PHOENIX (AP) — A top Arizona lawmaker asked state Attorney General Mark Brnovich on Tuesday to investigate whether Maricopa County is breaking the law by refusing to comply with subpoenas for records related to the 2020 election.
Majority Whip Sonny Borrelli of Lake Havasu City, the No. 3 Republican in the Senate, filed his complaint under Senate Bill 1487. The 5-year-old law allows any lawmaker to demand an investigation of “any ordinance, regulation, order or other official action” taken by a local government that may conflict with state law.

Only if sent to Democrats and their agents.
Uh oh, smells like another GOP sternly written letter is coming...
This is screwy.
Can the county just ignore the state?

.
Lawmakers need to seek slapping some leg irons on a few key County election officials and let them have a week or two to “review their stance” on that whole subpoena thing.
.
Maybe they should try a swat team at 3am kicking in the door with flashbangs and machine guns. Or is that reserved only for Trump supporters?
I would bet anything that the Maricopa County officials have the full support and backing of the US DOJ. Laws don’t matter anymore.....
Seems like the AZ legislature does stuff as it comes up, taking a couple of weeks to figure out what their next move will be.
Everyone above the age of 10 knew that they were going to ignore and resist at every step. Why doesn’t the legislature have a game plan that they put together 6 months ago, in order to not waste a minute of time?
Maybe we should all boycott Hickman’s Eggs, and Mc Donald’s who have just contracted with Hickman’s to supply their eggs.
The AZ Senate does not have the votes to handle this, due to two McCain cabal/Trump haters, a fact the Maricopa Supervisors are well aware of. I expect they communicate and plot with the two pro-corruption renegades.
Because AZ law says that the House or Senate may pass resolutions declaring someone to be in contempt of the legislature, it seems all too likely that the AG is going to pronounce that he has no legal path for action until they do. The law says “may pass” so hopefully there are other legal avenues beyond my limited knowledge.
Don’t count on the current sherriff to honor his oath of office.
