If you’re going to Home Depot, you will have to wear a mask once again, regardless of your vaccination status.
With the spread of the Delta variant of COVID-19, the national home-improvement chain announced Monday they are requiring all associates, contractors and vendors to wear masks while indoors at all U.S. Home Depot stores, distribution centers, and offices, as well as in customers’ homes and businesses.
Home Depot is also asking customers to wear masks while in their stores, and the company will continue to offer masks to those who don’t have one.
“Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, our number one concern has been for the health and safety of our customers and associates,” the company said in a statement released Monday.
Home Depot strongly encourages its employees to get the COVID-19 vaccine and offers free resources to cover childcare, transportation and finding an appointment, according to the statement.
Lowes isn’t that much further up the road.
I’ve never had a problem with the Menards near me. Went in without a mask- no problem.
YMMV

Was at HD yesterday, no change noticed.
It’s totally local. Here I show my VA card at ace and HD and get the rate with no hassle. Over 500 and HD needs a manager to approve.
There afraid of the slip and fall lawyers...

I may go into the local HD without a mask just to see what happens (I prefer Lowes anyway). If they ask me to leave I will ask them to speak with a manager. Then I'll waste his time asking him to explain their policy. Then I will leave telling them that I will shop elsewhere until their corporation comes to it's senses.
We should all do that to the first companies to re-impose mask mandates so that they others watching reconsider. There has to be push back and there needs to be a cost for making these arbitrary rules. Spin their wheels.
Lowes makes it super simple with their system for veterans and spouses can get the discount too. Homedepot makes it almost impossible and restricts it to certain times a year. Last time I looked you had to be actively serving as well.
“because it is a valved mask with no filtration of exhaled breath, it does not protect anyone else but the wearer from Covid-19. Such valved masks are no longer recommended or approved by the CDC. So I got a second mask and stuck a piece of N95 mask over the exhale valve port. A near perfect mask for virus protection now. I intend to modify it for addition of a P100 filter over the exhalation valve port. That should result in one of the best, nearly 100% full protection (inhale+exhale) masks/respirators possible.”
Large employers probably need to get expert scientific advice.
We should all look like aliens with these type of things.
Fascism!!! It’s back. Personally...I haven’t shopped Homo Depot in ages.
You're right. The sheep will get right back in their pens.
Hmmm... SO I think I am going to walk into Home Depot with no mask and my S&W on my hip, and see which policy of theirs I break that they are going to confront me about first.....
In minnesota they had rent a cops enforcing the mandate.
place is dead to me.
That’s been my experience, too, for the last year and a half.
They just put a sign up and hope the sheeple will obey.
Home Depot, on the other hand, reluctantly only gives their discount if you argue with them. The optics is real clear. I almost have to beg them for the discount.
Not true of any Home Depot I’ve been in here in the Houston area. I just show them my VA ID, and they take the 10% off, no questions. Most times, I just say, I’m a Navy veteran, and I don’t have to show the ID.
It’s amazing how many did. No real man would of, or a patriot. America and Canada’s males are wussies and scared little peons. We need more men.
I’ve been inHome Depot twice today here in Marietta Ga and was never asked by anyone to put on a mask. The employees were wearing them but 90% of the customers were not.
I am sure if it made the press today it will take a few days before it’s in effect
No harm in asking. The response will always be no.
Went in planning to buy about $200 in cleaning and painting supplies and was confronted at the door by an imperious "Karen" type in her HD orange smock.
"You must wear a mask before entering, Sir"
I spun on my heels and told her that I would take my business elsewhere. She actually seemed pleased about that and told me to have a nice day.
What a shame, as I believe the owner of the Home Depot is a Trump supporter and seems a pretty decent guy. But he lost himself a loyal customer today.
