What other medical choices can employers demand of their employees? If they can require experimental gene therapy, there doesn’t seem to be a limit.

Prevaccination Checklist for COVID-19 Vaccines:

https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/covid-19/downloads/pre-vaccination-screening-form.pdf

While written for professionals, it is the best guidance I’ve seen for personal vaccine suitability.

If you leave your job because your employer is going to require the Jab, what will you do when the government forces ALL EMPLOYERS to require their employees to get the Jab?

You’re screwed, bunkie.

So there’s no room in your scenario for Covid survivors with natural immunity? It’s either the vaccine or you’re a second class citizen? Are you serious about your comments?

In theory I agree but there are and needs to be limits. You can’t fire someone because of their color or gender so “any reason” is too broad of an umbrella.

Whomever argued this case if federal court and lost must have been horrible.

I’m honestly really surprised the courts have said it’s legal. Doesn’t seem right at all. 😯

She’s just saying that people have other options. If employers are doing this crap, then they have plenty of other job opportunities. I don’t see anything wrong with what she posted. ?

She DOES "get it".

No, she doesn't.

She is telling employers "Good Luck finding qualified workers if you demand a vaccinated workforce."

And when these employers threaten to bounce, Noem will cave just like she did to the NCAA. South Dakota isn't Texas.

While at the same time telling workers "There are many employers who will value your skills over your vax status."

Yeah well, oil or pipeline workers aren't going to take steep pay cuts and work in bars or family restaurants in SD just so they won't get the jab.

Noem screwed the pooch here.

I’ve worked for a company for many years. They have slowly but surely veered left over the last few. But it’s good pay, benefits, and lots of accrued vacation time. Not to mention job security. Why should I be willing to give it all up? And at my age. I hope and pray they do not end up requiring it but a little birdie tells me they will. I’ll cross that bridge when I get there.

“Jacobson v. Massachusetts, 197 U.S. 11 (1905), was a United States Supreme Court case in which the Court upheld the authority of states to enforce compulsory vaccination laws. The Court’s decision articulated the view that individual liberty is not absolute and is subject to the police power of the state.”

“Because of his refusal to get vaccinated, Jacobson was prosecuted and fined $5 (about $150 in 2020 dollars).”

I don’t think Noem’s a RINO or useless. But she’s morphing into that typical Republican where they offer a veneer of conservatism but still chummy with the Left and look for ways to “conservatize” liberalism, and then when election time rolls around start shooting ads of her shooting guns but not talking about the proper role of government or how the Dems are out-and-out Communists. She’s not standing on principle because SD is a small state and she wants it to be a major player.

"What happens when you run out of choices or cannot find a job that is just as good?"

And what happens when you get another decent job, and that new company decides they want all their employees to get the shot. When does it end?

“The courts have ruled on this.”

The Houston decision was ridiculous.

The judge opined that one could just get another job (in a flash). If so, why do we have unemployment insurance systems in all 50 states and DC?

The federal sexual harassment law is based on the reality that finding other employment is quite often difficult.
