For a potential presidential candidate who had built up a good amount of conservative goodwill, South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem is projecting the wrong message to keep her name circulating in the hat. Admittedly, I was hopeful for her just a few months ago, but her actions since then have been made me back away.
The latest example of embracing Republican Establishment corporatism is abysmal. What’s worse is that she demonstrated her embrace of one of the most hated industries today among MAGA conservatives: Big Pharma.
“Workers whose employers are mandating a vaccine for continued employment have the power to say no. Our robust economy and job market gives them the option to find a new employer that values personal choice and responsibility, and doesn’t force mandates on their employees.”

“Can I demand records and fire someone who had an abortion in the past?”
Have you? You seem the type.
Funny how "MY BODY, MY CHOICE" doesn't count here?
She is no better than any Democrat.
> No employer has the power to dictate that you must be vaccinated.
Noem isn’t insisting that you be vaccinated, just that vaccination can be a condition of employment in the state that she governs. And she is right.
I see a lot of hand-wringing on FR about how dire things look, while seeming not to realize all the conservative victories that have been made. One of these victories is the primacy of business interests. Your employer can require nearly anything as a condition of employment. If you don’t like it you can walk.
Do you own a business? Just curious
“this just sounds elitist.”
Agree. I heard, “Let them eat cake” in that statement.
What if my company demands pregnant women get an abortion? You ok with that?
This is easy. Just learn to code.
You can demand anything you wish to demand.
“I agree it is morally wrong, but that is irrelevant to this discussion. It is legal.”
It is well established that FDA Approved vaccines can be required.
We’re not talking about those. You recognize this right? Ordinarily vaccines take about 8 to 10 years of testing, to make sure they are both safe and effective. The “Jab” under consideration was put out in about five months.
There is absolutely no $&@king way what they are trying to do now is lawful. None.
Keep in mind, I’m not arguing for or against mRNA vaccines or anything related. Maybe it’s the best thing since sliced bread.
It may not be deemed lawful some day assuming it gets litigated.
But you’ll still get fired.
So from that perspective, I don’t have a problem with Noem saying that as a warning to both employers who may wish to retain staff, and to employees who may wish to retain their jobs.
I completely agree with you about vaccine testing. Unfortunately the full force of government and the courts are saying they can fire you if they want you to get the vaccine and you refuse.
What will you do if you go into work tomorrow and they give you that ultimatum?
Noem is a fool at best.

What if it’s the federal government? Can they ask anything? Can they demand all pregnant women get abortions?
Literal unionization? NO, banding together in common cause? YES.
Just the fact these employers are demanding, under threat, if employees don’t get these questionable concoctions injected into their bodies, they will be fired! This is really disgusting and totally unethical on every level.
Watch for things to get real ugly if some of these employees develop health issues, become sick or die due to these unreasonable demands.
Then, on top of all this, if some of these employees develop health issues, become sick or die due to these unreasonable demands, the employer will say, “Well, that’s tough s**t, you’re on your own sucker”.
This is just morally and unethically wrong on every level.
“People like you will justify the Mark of the Beast and burn in a lake of fire for all eternity.”
Where will people who make comments like that go?
The Apostle John who wrote the book of Revelation is in Heaven. He is the one who wrote it
