For a potential presidential candidate who had built up a good amount of conservative goodwill, South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem is projecting the wrong message to keep her name circulating in the hat. Admittedly, I was hopeful for her just a few months ago, but her actions since then have been made me back away.
The latest example of embracing Republican Establishment corporatism is abysmal. What’s worse is that she demonstrated her embrace of one of the most hated industries today among MAGA conservatives: Big Pharma.
“Workers whose employers are mandating a vaccine for continued employment have the power to say no. Our robust economy and job market gives them the option to find a new employer that values personal choice and responsibility, and doesn’t force mandates on their employees.”

Unless they rule that being fired for not getting vaccination is termination for cause. In most states you can't collect unemployment under those circumstances.
Unionization?
.........there was a day when my cup runneth over for Kristi. But after her being intimidated by the NCAA and it’s acolytes, my cup is luke warm and half full.
I do give her credit for standing tall in the Covid winds though when others, like Abbott, caved. In Abbott’s case, it was temporary. And, as things stand today, Abbott’s still got my vote.
You can’t collect unemployment if you quit. The basic idea is that an employee can collect unemployment if the employer initiates the termination of employment. Depending on the state, there are certain exceptions for collecting after being fired, but quitting is not grounds for eligibility.
Read what she actually said.
Sounds like me and my family will be living under a bridge in a year or so.
In most cases you will have a hard time collecting unemployment if you quit or are fired.
Here is my 2 cent. Fuque you!!!
Pretty disgusting.
Starting to sound like the Mark of the Beast.
She has destroyed any potential candidacy she might once have had. She’s done.
The media would do to her what they did to Sarah Palin if she was ever on a national ticket.
They would love to see her on the ticket.
Ok I reread and my opinion stands...she sounds like a rude boss-you don’t like it there’s the door.
Someone should ask her if Joe mandates the jab is she gonna quit?
Exactly! If the employer demands to know whether you’re Jewish or pregnant, you must tell them. Employers can do whatever they please, obviously. There are no laws or restrictions on these issues.
This is NOT about Noem doing anything.
This is her warning employers about the choices irreplaceable employees have.
That is correct. Either get the shots, quit, or let them fire you. If you are a valuable employee, they may adjust their stance, if you aren’t valuable to them, then you are probably better off going somewhere else anyway...
Can I demand records and fire someone who had venereal diseases and abortions in the past?
“Our robust economy and job market gives them the option to find a new employer that values personal choice and responsibility, and doesn't force mandates on their employees.”
Why work for the kind of employer who will force vax mandates? I'd quit. There are many better opportunities elsewhere. Joe and company said they aren't gonna mandate the vax. They clear that up yesterday.
