So who’s dumping all these masks in the ocean? American garbage goes to landfills, not the ocean.

Yep! Couldn’t see that coming. /s

In a generation or so, archeologists will find a layer of masks, gloves, what have you. They will wonder what in the heck happened.

I keep a box of disposable masks in the car. Every once in a while, one just accidentally falls out of my car in the parking lot. Darn.

They want masks. I’ll give them masks.

It’s obviously the Chinese or the Russians, whoever’s the enemy right now.

I am just kidding.

I burned one and it was pretty disgusting! It sort of melted and congealed at the same time!

It was one of the “free” ones that arrived in our mailbox way back when ... a “gift” from China ... yeah, not wearing those!

Reminds me of a Monty Python sketch: some archaeologists build a Mastadon out of a toe.

Researchers from Visual Capitalist found that 3 per cent of the 52 billion disposable single-use masks produced to curb the Covid-19 pandemic found their way into the sea.

The throwaway masks sent 5500 metric tonnes of plastic into the oceans, which will take up to 450 years to biodegrade, the group said.

So a multi ton steel ship tskes about 120 years to desolve, but a polycotton mask that cant stop a virus is somehow irresistible to seawater? Thank goodness a reputable, no-one ever heard of, headuptheirasses researchers from what I can only assume is a bunch of Greta-Karens just throwing darts at a assine number of nearly half a millenium is taken as legit by the nettards of Yahoo.
