San Francisco's district attorney spoke out in apparent defense of a 'prolific' shoplifter who was filmed brazenly robbing a Walgreens store amid fierce criticism of the city's crime policies.
Chesa Boudin, district attorney since 2019, was asked about a viral video from June 19 showing the thief man heaping armfuls of Walgreens products into a trash bag, then riding his bike through the store with the stolen goods while the security guard and bystanders looked on.
The broad daylight theft happened at a Walgreens on 300 Gough Street, in the Hayes Valley area of San Francisco, on June 14.

San Francisco voters seemed very uninformed. They had ranked choice voting and for example 5,000 people, whose first choice was the most pro-police candidate, put him second. He won by less than 3,000 votes.
A fellow freeper speculated that Boudin was helped by the fact that he shares his name with a popular sour bread brand (he has nothing to do with the bread company).
Oh, I don’t doubt for a second that there is a large contingent of people on the left who fully fit that well meaning, ignorant, inept characterization. No doubt at all.
When I divide the Left into three categories, the Liberals, the True Believers, and The Movers and Shakers, these people who are well meaning, ignorant or inept are the ones I characterize as “Liberals”. They are too lazy or don’t have the time to think things through, run on emotion, etc. You can often talk to these people, and if you ask pointed questions, you get the impression some of them are more conservative than leftist in some ways. They often aren’t unintelligent, just emotional, intellectually lazy, unaware, and unfocused. There are some number of these people who can become conservatives if they are mugged or have some thing that motivates them.
The “True Believers” are the ones you see wearing pink pussy hats, wearing the Handmaiden outfits, at BLM protests, and are Antifa scum. When confronted, their fevered faces haveheir eyes bulge, they have spittle on their lips. I avoid these people.
And “The Movers and The Shakers” are the people who really know that none of their BS is about social justice, equal rights, or world peace. They know full well that it is about having and holding power...and Boudin is one of them, IMO.
As is the entire Biden Administration.
By the way, good linked article. Anyone quoting Sowell is on the right track!
Thanks...
GEE, I wonder how he was lucky enough to dig up an extra 3000 votes???
Is Dominion involved with SF involved. Just speculatin’.
Government welfare and church charities are not enough.
Must allow theft to go unpunished.
And legal Marijuana so they can calm their nerves.
All the Dem establishment hated him. His only high profile endorsement was Bernie Sanders. If there are people in position to fix the elections they’d have fixed it against Boudin.
Voters there just like to do stupid things.
The ONLY hope for San Francisco is to do what they did in the 1850s when the citizens established Committees of Vigilance who replaced law enforcement and the court system.
Finally someone who posts something that makes sense. To many FR posters never read the article or make some cutesy post trying to be funny. It’s in this thread too. The DA is not a woman, probably not much of a man either.
More generational criminality that can be sourced back to the Weather Underground leaders Bill Ayers and his mall Bernadette Dohrn. Toss that together with the dirty money from George Soros and you get a very dangerous individual.
// If I were a Walgreens...I’d open a new operation with a window pick-up site....you order via the internet, and some kid bags everything for you to walk over and pick it up at the window. Keep the customers out of the store entirely.
...and everything at that location would cost 10%-20% more than other stores. They’d complain about that too. Not that anyone sane would care.
“ Boudin said that official data showed that over-all theft was down from the previous year.”
After the last couple of years, we all know what “official data” is worth.
You can find it all over San Francisco sidewalks.
This is the result of Proposition 47 being passed some years back. Look it up.

At least he didn;t blow the boat up.
Too bad the same can't be said for San Fran.

Not to mention a possible uptick in violent crime as people are accosted at the pick up window. Criminals are gonna criminal; can’t shoplift? I’ll just go pick up an illegal gun and let the white folk shop for me.
Time for him to end up Harvey Milk style.
