I watch the Arizona numbers daily. My GUESS - trend too short to know - is that cases have peaked in Arizona and are starting downward. Deaths are STILL trending down. No spike in deaths at all.

I’m in CT. Based on the states numbers, I suspect we already had our peak and cases are declining. Hospitalizations are basically hovering around 100, no huge spikes one day it is up 2, next day even, then down 1, etc. Had 7 deaths in the last week, though no stats reported on vaccinated or not.
To further my suspicion, over the last 3-5 days the press has started hyping other random stories and less case count hype than the few weeks prior.
Most virologists believe that the “delta variant” is less deadly than the original because a virus that kills its host can’t survive. This has been obsreved many times in other viruses.
