FBI is attempting to do damage control after it was revealed the law enforcement bureau initiated and carried out a significant portion of the kidnapping plot against Democrat Governor Gretchen Whitmer last year.
The FBI holds sacred the rights of individuals to peacefully exercise their First Amendment freedoms," he said.
The FBI's heavy involvement in the plot raises serious questions about how the agency conducts operations, for what purpose and to what extent agents were involved in the January 6 breach of the U.S. Capitol.

This time their plans were thwarted. How many other Terror plots has the FBI been part of?
Questions???
Well, there were 18 plotters, 12 of them were fbi agents or informers...
And they are going to investigate themselves???
Yeah, Right
Add that to the FIB's litany of lies, treachery, and failures.
Even NPR was questioning this. 13 people were arrested for the plot, but there were 12 FBI informants and agents in the group. And these 12 were providing all the funding for accommodations, food and fuel.
In a group that seemed to have 25 or 27 real members.
The NPR infobabe actually asked if the 13 had a good case for entrapment.
Wray has incredible staying power. No matter what his agency does he’s still there.
The Deep State runs DC.
I’m starting to wonder if there are any terror plots in the US since 9/11 that were not planned and organized by the FBI.
Disgraceful.
These people need to to see the inside of a jail cell.
Honestly, this is unbelievable, and not a single person held to account. I can still see Whitmer’s fake tears discussing how threatened she felt. It would almost make a great commercial if the GOP had any creative talent.
Win one, lose one.
The FBI has lost all credibility. Frankly, that started with J. Edgar in drag.
1/6/21 is one
FBI Burns Their Own Informant Who Was Allegedly The Driving Force Behind Whitmer Kidnapping Plot (Wisconsin man)
An FBI informant suspected of being the driving force behind the alleged plot to “kidnap” Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer was quietly hit with a gun charge by the feds last week — potentially signaling the government’s suspected entrapment scheme that ensnared the “Wolverine Watchmen” militia may be falling apart.
From The Detroit News (Archive), “Feds indict Whitmer kidnapping case informant as secret rift surfaces”:
The indictment of Wisconsin resident Stephen Robeson, 58, for illegally possessing a high-powered sniper rifle is the latest legal development in a criminal case that has relied heavily on informants and undercover FBI agents to reveal violent extremism in Michigan, legal experts say.
Though prosecutors have secured the conviction of plotter Ty Garbin of Hartland Township and compiled evidence that includes secretly recorded audio, video and more than 13,000 text messages, new criminal charges against a confidential informant could be exploited by defense lawyers.
An indictment after a prolonged period of cooperation suggests the relationship between Robeson and the FBI is destroyed and that prosecutors do not plan on using him at trial, legal experts said. But defense lawyers can try to call him as a witness and attack Robeson’s credibility.
“This gives defense lawyers ammunition to create reasonable doubt,” said Andrew Arena, former special agent in charge of the FBI office in Detroit. “It could be he broke bad on them during the investigation.
“It’s a difficult proposition when you are using these guys. You’re telling them don’t commit crimes, you’re doing everything to keep on top of them. But you’re not with them 24 hours a day.”
It seems more likely that the feds are only indicting Robeson as a form of witness intimidation because they fear he could testify against them and expose their entrapment scheme in court.
There is such a thing as entrapment. Cannot believe how corrupt the FBI has become.
What amazes me is that there has been no reports of whistle blowers among the ranks of the agency. All these hard working, honest, upstanding pillars of the community agents saw NOTHING out of the ordinary? Noticed no questionable activities by higher ups? Nothing that would have thrown up red flags during investigative processes regarding the Clintons, Crossfire hurricane and others?
Yea..right. The agents were closing ranks to protect themselves from investigations that would bring to light corruption within the agency.
They’ve lost all credibility.
From pretty much all i have gleaned about them in the past 10 or so years, the FBI seems to have rotted from the inside out starting at the top. Their playbook seems no different from the East-German/Soviet Stasi of old.
We need to purge, we are being held hostage by a criminal regime
So many of their prosecutions stem from "set-ups", like perjury traps or other entrapment schemes where they make up a crime and then invite unsuspecting people in to participate, like they did on 1/6.
Then there’s the Hollywood field office rifling through safety deposit boxes. Then keeping the belongings of people unassociated with any warrant or investigation....
