(Precision Vaccinations) Ending the COVID-19 pandemic will require long-lived immunity to SARS-CoV-2, wrote researchers who published a new study in the journal Cell on July 14, 2021.
‘To end the COVID-19 pandemic, it is critical to know how long immunity against SARS-CoV-2 will persist after infection and whether it will be sufficient to prevent new infections and severe disease in years to come, continued this study,’ which is excerpted below.
‘Identifying, in-depth, the adaptive immune components leading to recovery and modeling the trends of each response was enabled by the longitudinal sampling of a large number of COVID-19 patients.'
This new study shows that most convalescent COVID-19 patients mount durable antibodies, B cells, and T cells specific for SARS-CoV-2 up to 250 days. The kinetics of these responses provide an early indication for a favorable course ahead to achieve long-lived immunity.
Because the cohort will be followed for 2–3 more years, they can build on these results to define the progression to long-lived immunity against this novel human coronavirus, which can guide rational responses when future virus outbreaks occur.
The hallmark of the initial immune defense against SARS-CoV-2 is the emergence of antibodies recognizing the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein, including the RBD and NTD components of the S1 subunit, during the early phase of viral replication.
These antibodies are likely secreted from plasmablasts rapidly generated from B cells activated upon their first encounter with the pathogen spike antigen.
The swift rise over the first month of infection, followed by a fast decline of the circulating spike IgG and IgA antibodies, is a consistent finding and likely explained by the disappearance of the short-lived plasmablasts.
These events occur even sooner for the spike IgM and nucleocapsid antibodies.

Not sure I understand why they can’t just create a COVID vaccine with a weakened form of the virus, let people get a cough or sniffle, and be done with it. If full blown infection and recovery is the best remedy, why not let people get infected? Sorta like the old days of chicken pox parties where parents brought their kids together around a child with active chicken pox to get their kids through it sooner rather than later?
Three of my buddies had it (saloon Covid)...all in their 70s. None were hospitalized or even really sick despite two of them having serious health problems.

The ex head of Pfizer said quite a while ago that even if you had SARS, it’s similar enough to protect you from covid, even though years have passed.
They let the kids go back to school here last summer, no masks, no distancing. Wife informed me recently that they did have an outbreak at one of the schools last year but it wasn't a big deal. That should mean hundreds of kids and their parents have all been exposed. Should help with this delta showing up here right now.
Protect the vulnerable and let it run it's course through everyone else might have been a better plan than the lockdowns. We'd be done by now I think.
The vulnerable have always been the elderly. We see how they were treated in liberal utopias such as New York.
Children, esp. those under 10, have never been at extreme risk barring health risks such as immunocompromise or other maladies that likely wouldn’t have those children socializing with peers in a school. Anyone between 15 and 50 enjoys a 99.7% survival rate for the disease.
My 65 year old mother contracted it and survived even after two months of radiation therapy for breast cancer.
The cure is worse than the disease, and I think most people choosing to forego the vaccine understand that and are increasingly defiant of orders due to the very obvious nature of it all.

Similar experience to yours. Several friends and their 70s one of which has diabetes all caught the China virus and survived just fine. None of them had a serious case. Then I have one friend who is in his mid fifties and healthy as a horse who caught it and ended up in the hospital for 5 days with it and had a fairly serious case. 6 months later he still doesn’t have his taste or smell back. This virus is weird it does what it wants with whoever it wants I don’t think there’s any rhyme or reason to it myself.
I also know four people who died from it who were otherwise healthy and didn’t have any identifiable comorbidities. One of which was a Chicago police officer.

I submit, then, that the population with “natural immunity” plus the millions already vaccinated gives us a high percentage of Americans carrying the antibodies. Enough, indeed, to remove all restrictions!!

Therapeutics and vitamins should have been the focus from the start. Let the disease run its course and herd immunity would have been realized a long time ago.

That’s the ticket; give everyone a COVID virus shot and when they recover, they’re safe.
Except that the main purpose of the lockdowns is not safety but to justify massive mail-in election ballots = cheating = rats win.
What they don’t tell you about chicken pox parties hosted by mothers who think ‘it can’t happen to me or my kids’ is the dark side: 1/60,000 died from chicken pox with 2-3/1000 hospitalization rate. Or the number of pregnant women exposed by such parties that had miscarriages, pre-term births, neonatal pox or pox pneumonia.
Yeah, if the “experts” had not made a big deal about it most of us would not have noticed.
