New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio said Monday that he's expanding the city's Covid-19 mandate to require the entire municipal workforce to get vaccinated or start weekly testing by September 13.
The mandate will cover employees in the school system as well as police and fire departments, the mayor said. The city has about 340,000 employees.
"It means people who work in offices and people who work on the front line. Everyone," he said.

- CDC states the planned withdrawal of the existing test.
- Now all of a sudden, religious exemptions and medical exemptions can be granted for non-vaccinated if they have weekly tests.
Sounds like all the money that can be made from vaccines has been pulled off the table. And since the vaccine hesitant wont play along, time to ramp up testing.
So about 30% of them will leave New York.

The Center for Disease Control is finally pulling the flawed PCR tests because they can’t differentiate between COVID and the Flu. But it appears California news outlets are too busy fear mongering the Delta Variant to notice or care.
The Southern California News Group reported in the Orange County Register that masks are mandatory again in OC Superior Court “after two people in the building tested positive for COVID-19.” Two people tested positive. Are they sick? Are they hospitalized? Have they died?
“So far, more than 260,000 people in the county have contracted the disease,” the SCNG reported. Imagine if the sentence said, “more than 260,000 people in the county have contracted the flu.”
“The disease.” What happened to the virus? What the SCNG article doesn’t say is the more than 260,000 people who contracted the “disease” is the total number for the last 16 months.
Orange County’s population is 3,175,130. In April, Dr. Clayton Chau, director of the Orange County Health Care Agency and acting county health officer proposed a pilot program for “vaccine passports” in Orange County – a “show-me-your-papers” or “digital passport” program to provide COVID vaccination evidence.
And they call Trump a Hitler.
Why did they wait so long to do this? Very odd.
This is all so obvious. Why in the Hell aren’t people up in arms over all this crap? The Founders are probably pissed right now, ready to descend from the Heavens to bitch-slap all of us.

This could actually work out in the employees’ (or their heirs) favor. Forcing them to partake in a clinical trial transfers the liability onto the city should something go wrong, does it not?
There’s also the question if saliva vs nasal swabs.
Saliva is likely more accurate since viral debris can stay in the nose a lot longer than the mouth.
Likely why saliva tests are being used at the Olympics...
This is racist. Blacks can’t figure out how to acquire a photo ID. How do you expect them to get a vaccine and a vaccine passport?
