As of Thursday, the number of homicide victims in Philadelphia this year is up to at least 314 people. That’s up 35% from this time last year.
Philadelphia now has the highest murder rate in the country per capita of the country’s 10 largest cities.
Now, we’re getting a look at the areas hit hardest by the gun violence.
More than one-third of the shootings have happened in just five zip codes in North Philadelphia, Hunting Park, West Philadelphia, Kingsessing, Kensington and Port Richmond.
As the death toll continues to climb at a record-breaking pace, some city leaders are demanding action from the mayor.

Philly has arguably the worst DA and mayor in America. Even though they don’t get the same publicity as some of the other Soros toadies they are every bit as ruthless and power hungry.
There was a time in the late 80s when Philadelphia’s crime rat was the lowest of the top ten cities. Frank Rizzo had been Mayor until 1980. Then Philly started to go “woke.” Elected first AA Mayor, Wilson Goode, who dropped a firebomb on a black neighborhood in 1985.
In the aftermath, Philly PPD tried harder. Things picked up for awhile as the PPD brass attended Kennedy School of Government to learn “community policing”, but with the rise of leftwing City Council in the 90s and their conversion of Philly to the “gayborhood”, driving the Boy Scouts, Salvation Army and various Catholic social services to the poor out of the City because they believe in traditional marriage, It’s been all downhill.
Liberals ruin everything they touch.
