GEORGIA: Kemp Appoints Anti-Trump Judge Likely To Throw Out Any 2020 Fraud Cases, Draws Ire From Grassroots

Georgia Governor Brian Kemp has appointed a close ally of anti-Trump Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr to the Georgia Court of Appeals. Andrew Pinson, the new judge appointed by Kemp, is likely to hear any cases regarding potential election fraud, and due to his close relationship with Carr, is widely expected to throw them out.

Now, Kemp is receiving even more push back from the grassroots, who are “fighting to uncover the lengths the Democrats went to steal the election,” as he appears to posture against a 2022 political cycle where he will be challenged by the pro-Trump wing of the Georgia Republican Party.

I don't know where this information came from, but it is wrong from beginning to end.

1. Georgia Court of Appeals does NOT hear election cases. The Supreme Court does. If whoever the author is can't get THAT right, why should he be relied on?

The Supreme Court Chief Justice just retired. If Kemp were engaged in some kind of nefarious plot to throw out election cases, he would have appointed Pinson to the open Supreme Court seat rather than Verda Colvin, who was named last week.

2. Pinson is a highly respected attorney. He works in the solicitor's branch of the AG's office, but that doesn't mean he's the "creature" of the AG. He's extremely bright and a constitutional conservative. Think he'll make a very good judge.

This information is incorrect. Andrew Pinson is a strong conservative. I’m surprised that he was appointed. I was expecting an affirmative action appointee and told myself (and others) that he little chance of being appointed to this position. He clerked for Justice Thomas and aligns himself with the Constitutional Conservative type of folks.
