I worry that the FDA will “wave its magic wand” and just go and approve the vaccine.

Now, there may be regulations in place that would slow that down and demand some lengthy testing period, or threshold of safety — I don’t know. But I do think that we are in a period where government “can do anything it wants”, so the FDA could approve this stuff tomorrow. Who knows?
