Linked are articles on the rise of bullshit jobs. Why is there a PTA “official?” When I was a kid the PTA was a couple of parents who met sometimes at the school or in somebody’s kitchen. There was not “official.” It’s amazing that there’s been such an explosion of bullshit jobs.

So how did she get the job? Seems to me it was the same parents who voted her in, so they could hold their noses up at others by demonstrating that they’re ‘woke’.

The PTA has been controlled by lefties for decades. They are just more open about it now.
PTA that I remember from childhood was a self-help organization. The parents who cared about education raised funds and procured needful things and otherwise helped a specific school.
The “Virginia PTA” website, by contrast, says it is an “advocacy” group. Essentially, this is a political lobby that seeks to influence public policy by co-opting left-minded parents, exploiting the credibility left over from what PTAs used to be. As revealed by Ms. Congeniality’s diatribe, its objectives are identical with those of the left-most Democrat Party and the teacher unions. It’s a “volunteer group”, except for ... the paid organizers and agitators who control the volunteers.
