Biden wants spending to boost economy, but GOP to block vote

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Joe Biden said Monday that his infrastructure and families agenda must be passed to sustain the economic momentum of his first six months in office, aiming to set the tone for a crucial week of congressional negotiations on the two bills.

But a Wednesday deadline set by Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer on the bipartisan infrastructure bill was in doubt as Republicans signaled they would likely oppose a procedural vote, for now, while details are still being worked out. Senators are wrangling over how to pay for the new spending in the $1 trillion package of highway, water system and other public works projects.

At the same time, Democrats are developing the particulars of a separate bill that would invest a stunning $3.5 trillion nationwide across Americans’ lives — with support for families, education, climate resiliency and other priorities that they aim to ultimately pass with solely Democratic support. Democrats hope to show progress on that bill before lawmakers leave Washington for their recess in August.

The AP is starting to feel the urgency of casting the $3.5 trillion “everything a progressive ever wanted” bill in concrete before the 2022 elections take their majority in the House away, much in the same way that any con man holds his breath waiting for the mark to bite. FDR had the Great Depression to speed his grandiose plans along on their way; his present counterparts want the plans first, then the depression.

Too many poison provisions in both bills for either of them to advance.

Kill the bills.

The economy is not “boosted” by out-of-control government spending.

What “spending”? There’s no spending. There’s only borrowing. More precisely, printing money out of thin air. We’re almost up to $30 TRILLION. Drowning in debt and destroying our dollar. Add in the unfunded entitlement liabilities and you’re easily over $100 TRILLION. That’s 100,000 billion dollars, or to put it another way, about a $312,000 debt for each man, woman, and child in the United States.

We don’t have the money to “spend”. That’s a lie.

Spending to boost the economy. In other news, Biden plans to stand in a bucket and lift himself up by the handle.

Heck, the old turd probably can't lift his member to leak. Jill would be in the bucket with him trying to lift the handle; the school teacher is running the country (into the toilet).

Biden wants to print money to spend it. Not good.

Biden is a fool to use Keynesian economics which advocates higher government spending (financed by government borrowing) to kickstart an economy in a slump. Keynesian economics only puts a band aid on the problem and kicks it down the road. As long as we continue to rely on Keynesian prescriptions, the remedies chosen will themselves cause a quite extraordinary amount of damage along the way. As Margaret Thatcher said, ‘The trouble with Keynesian economics is that eventually you run out of other people’s money.’ By waiting until that day of reckoning, we postpone the inevitable. But as the very meaning of the word clearly implies, the inevitable inevitably arrives. And when it does, not only does the original problem need to be repaired, repairs are also needed for the Keynesian non-solutions that were attempted first.

the desperation is palpable if someone feels compelled to buy off the entire MSM for biden. has this ever happened before in US history?

the next step in this improbable sequence of affairs will be to detain people indefinitely for subversive thinking, defined as non-MSM-spoonfed groupthink. oh wait, with the january 6 defendants, they are already doing that...

beyond disgusting...

The economy is hot as a firecracker, inflation is setting in. We don't need any stimulus at all, quite the contrary.

And Biden better not talk about "jobs". There are jobs aplenty, just a lot of lazy welfare parasites who refuse to work. Latifa's only job is collecting government checks, and getting a new weave.

The title of the article makes an unwarranted assumption - the kind of humongously large spending that Biden wants will boost the economy. IT WON’T.

The economy is already growing. All Biden needs to do is stay the course on the existing economic and tax policies.

Unfortunately he wants to change what’s already working, just like he changed the already working immigration policies in place.... the result? Catastrophe!

The 'other priorites' are amnesty and Nationalizing Elections. The scum are craming this Communist Revolution on us with a process that was only meant to keep the Government funded.
