e new Russian 5th generation stealth fighter jet. (Image via Rostec) on Jul. 15, 2021, Photos started circulating on Twitter of an aircraft believed to be Russia’s new 5th generation stealth fighter jet, but it is unclear this is a mock-up of a future fighter or real prototype.
A Russian next-generation single-engine fighter jet has been spotted at the Zhukovsky International Airport outside Moscow.
The jet, covered by black canvas, was rolled to the static display at the MAKS 2021 show, which starts next week. The appearance of the mysterious aircraft did not come completely unexpected. On Jul. 11, Rostec posted a mysterious tweet that teased an announcement.

that’s probably the wing. it’s crap.
it looks a lot more like an f-35, but it’s hard to tell under the tarp.
That’s the inside of the landing gear doors and I doubt it’s cardboard. Russian aircraft favor different internal paint colors than we do.

Except newer, possibly better avionics due to not being two decades old, and actually in production instead of not being able to be manufactured any more.
No, this is the F-35 counterpart that’s not been publicly debuted.
More importantly - this one is intended for export sales.
It’s cardboard.
Look real close and you can see Walmart on it.
Still better than our offerings, which are “tolerance and diversity” and not actual fighters. :P
if it’s a mockup, then it’s possible that it’s literally cardboard.

no one buys soviet military hardware out of anything short of desperation because soviet military technology sucks the big one, and soviet technology support and maintenance sucks even harder.
Hope they have enough coal to see them through a mission.
The F-35 is single engine.. One of the things I don’t like about it. Give me an F-22 or F-15EX any day.
russian military technology is more dangerous to the russians operating it than it is to anyone else.
