WASHINGTON — More than six months after Jan. 6 — and after all of the reporting on that day — Donald Trump’s hold over the Republican Party hasn’t gotten weaker.
It’s only grown stronger.
In Oklahoma, the state GOP chair is backing a primary challenge to the reliably conservative sitting Sen. James Lankford, R-Okla. Lankford’s sin: refusing to reject the Electoral College count on Jan. 6.
In Alaska, the state party has endorsed challenger Kelly Tshibaka over Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska. Murkowski voted to convict Trump in his impeachment trial.
In Ohio, the candidates vying to fill the open Senate seat being vacated by retiring Sen. Rob Portman, R-Ohio, has turned into a contest over who can hug Trump the hardest, with newly minted candidate J.D. Vance even deleting his 2016 tweet saying he was voting against Trump.
And yesterday, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif. — who is eyeing becoming speaker — traveled to New Jersey to meet with Trump, as McCarthy considers which GOP members to appoint to the congressional committee investigating Jan. 6.
“Much to discuss!” Trump said in a statement yesterday first revealing the news of his meeting with McCarthy.

It took THREE media people to write this short article.
They are SOOO pissed that Trump's still standing after all they've thrown at him.
He was supposed to vanquished six years ago. But one man (with the people behind him) has torn their cozy little world asunder.
And does a pouty face !
Meanwhile, the RINOs he allegedly has a “grip on” go to Germany with Democrats to kowtow to Merkel.
I’ve assumed lately that multiple bylines in media articles include the actual author, an ideological enforcer, and someone who understands grammar and spelling.
Multiple bylines are done for legal and for the reasons of promoting propaganda. Any one of the liars can deny writing the specific untruth or accusation in the article.
Watching the Pravda media’s constant assertion of “false claims about the election”, and seeing the secret police descend on grandfathers as they carry them off in manacles to solitary confinement is probably not endearing conservatives to the “reach across the aisle” crowd of useless GOPers.
Do you all remember when Rush critiqued an New York Times editorial in which they stated Democrats had a new strategy: abandon labor and the middle class to focus on the super-wealthy, urban hipsters and the ultra-poor?
It seems Trump knew this but too many Republicans were/are still in the binary mode of Republicans=management, Democrats=labor. That was true in the 1970’s but not today. Trump found this gap in the Democrats’ strategy and took the middle class and labor.
“The War Against Trump”
Trump should use this line ‘Im more popular than ever now, and I see the fake news media are stomping their feet again over it’ and point to the media in the back row at his rallies
They say it as if it is a bad thing.
Let them hold their breath and turn blue.
Trump isn’t going anywhere.
It’ll make his enemies even more insane and the media will generate a lot of $.
Trump haters have made James Acosta very wealthy.
Cheer and peruse later.
Just like Nixon. But Trump is sober. Nixon was not.
