China warned of "serious consequences" for trespassing in its airspace on Thursday, hours after the U.S. Air Force delivered "diplomatic mail" to the de facto U.S. embassy in Taipei.
A C-146A Wolfhound, typically used by Air Force Special Operations Command, left Okinawa's Kadena Air Base in Japan before landing at Songshan Airport in Taiwan's capital at 9:32 a.m. local time, publicly available flight tracking data showed.
Wu Qian, a spokesperson for China's Defense Ministry, said in an online statement that Beijing expressed its "serious concern" over the stopover, which lasted just more than half an hour.
"Taiwan is part of China's sacred and inalienable territory," Wu said. "Any foreign military aircraft that lands on Chinese territory must obtain permission from the government of the People's Republic of China."
"Any foreign ships or planes trespassing into Chinese airspace will trigger serious consequences," he added.

A few years ago USAF officials met with Taiwan Air Force personnel in Taipei. Asked what the USAF wants the TAF to do in the event of war with China, the USAF representative replied, “Stay out of the way.”

It must be declared openly that the U.S. does not consider Taiwan part of “Chinese airspace”. THAT is an unsettled matter between Taiwan and China. The U.S. has to take Taiwan’s side in that idea.
Meanwhile Taiwan says China has invaded it’s airspace 25 times so far this year with Chinese military aircraft.

Because Wuhan is actually one of the Problem provinces for the CCP. We want them intact and resisting. (That is why they shut it down for C-19, punishment.)
Well, in WWII we beat the Japanese, who conquered Formosa, and we conquered the Japanese Empire and took control of Formosa. We granted them independence.
I would say that we have a more recent claim than they do.
Maybe we should reassert our claims on Taiwan as a Pacific territory of the US ad watch their heads explode.
Mainland Taiwan needs to stay out of the business of Taiwan.

China gave up claims to Taiwan when Japan won the 1895 war, and Taiwan was a territory of Japan for half a century. So yes, we could have claimed Taiwan as spoils of war.
