VIRGINIA BEACH, VA (July 13, 2021) Families welcome home Sailors assigned to the “Gunslingers” of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 105 on Naval Air Station (NAS) Oceana during the squadron’s homecoming. VFA-105, part of Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 3 embarked on the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69), returns to NAS Oceana after a regularly scheduled deployment in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in U.S. 5th and 6th Fleet. Don’t Mess With The US Coast Guard! The crew of the Coast Guard Joseph Tezanos offloads nearly $15 million in cocaine and transfers custody of two suspected smugglers at Coast Guard Base San Juan July 12, 2021. Cutter Joseph Tezanos, with the assistance of a Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Air and Marine Operations (AMO) Multi-Role Enforcement Aircraft (MEA) aircraft, interdicted a go-fast vessel in Mona Passage waters July 10, 2021, which resulted in the apprehension of the smugglers and seizure of 502 kilograms of cocaine. The interdiction resulted from multi-agency efforts in support of U.S. Southern Command's enhanced counter-narcotics operations in the Western Hemisphere and coordination with the Caribbean Corridor Strike Force (CCSF).
