On the heels of his Vax-a-Million sweepstakes, Gov. Mike DeWine said Tuesday that his administration will roll out a new statewide COVID-19 vaccine incentive initiative.
DeWine, speaking with reporters Tuesday, declined to offer details, though he hinted that the new program will award more prizes of smaller amounts of money in a way that offers vaccinated Ohioans better odds of winning. The new initiative will be unveiled “sometime in the next week or so.”
DeWine said 59% of Ohioans age 18 or older have been vaccinated, but he worries about both the fast-spreading Delta variant of the virus and some areas of Ohio where as many as 30%-35% of residents still remain unvaccinated....
The giveaways led to an initial bump in vaccinations around the state, leading several other states to launch similar contests. However, a study released earlier this month found that such lotteries are of “limited value” to convince people to get a coronavirus vaccine....

Should be Mike DeWine, the future ex-governor of Ohio at the next election.
Rigged? For certain. Does anyone really believe that the State of Ohio would risk selecting a winner who had died or was dying from a reaction to the experimental treatment?

I am no epidemiologist (although I play one on TV) but these numbers are not making sense to me. If we are down to just 30% of the population being unvaccinated, and anywhere from another 5% to 15% having antibodies from viral exposure, then we should have herd immunity by now. Unless there is another vector besides human social contageousness, something is afoul

Moronic public policy...no one will get a vaccine that wasn’t going to as a result of this contest...though if you’ve gotten it, you may as well sign up.
