US chokes Cuba, blames socialism for failing
Glibal Times ^ | july 13, 2021 | Yan Jin

The demonstrations were mainly triggered by people's discontent over Cuba's economic hardships and shortages of basic supplies. These are mainly a result of the US' decades-long sanctions against Cuba. Despite dialogue during the Obama era, the Trump administration tightened sanctions on Cuba, further crippling their economy. Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel said on Sunday that the protests were a form of "systemic provocation" by dissidents doing the bidding of the US. He said Washington in recent months had sought to destabilize and weaken the island's economy as part of a policy designed to "provoke a massive social implosion," according to New York Times.

Diaz-Canel must have some solid evidence to prove US' provocations behind the scenes. Judged by the US' prior moves, it is likely to have done something to "guide" the protests in Cuba.

Article contains View of our CCP friends on current Cuban situation. Interesting to read, if you want to get exposed to unadulterated Communist propaganda. My point - If Communism is such superior system to the capitalism, why, after 60 years of Cuban communist development, are Cubans still bothered by sanctions? They should, by now live in Communist Paradise and do not give a hoot about anybody's sanctions.

Then explain why Iran is doing well. We don’t trade with them. And the whole rest of the world trades with them.

>> “They [the Cubans] can trade with just about any other country in the world.” <<

Yes, they’ve had over half a century to develop trade with others. Besides, the Communist line used to be that the United States exploited the third-world countries it traded with. Yet now they complain that it harms them by not trading with them. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t.

Socialism works — kind of, sort of, maybe — if capitalism agrees to prop it up. If capitalists walk away and refuse to exploit poor socialist countries, then all hope is lost. Hmmmmmmmmmmm.

Also, the Russian communists gave Castro massive subsidies but communism still failed there.

“Damned if you do, damned if you don’t.”

I said the same thing, if we trade with them and help prop up the government, technically we are helping a dictatorship which we have gotten critised for in the past, if we don’t then it is or fault when they fail, some people are like women, dont know what the heck they want /sarc.

Also I will argue, just like all economic and poltical systems, there is a shelf life, the system in cuba was on the lesser end. Embargo or no embargo Communism in Cuba was going to die, case in point Romania for example.

"My point - If Communism is such superior system to the capitalism, why, after 60 years of Cuban communist development, are Cubans still bothered by sanctions?"

If all the nations of the earth except for one small isolated island were converted to pure international communism, the misery and failure of the communist nations would be blamed on the existence of the bourgeois capitalists on the free market island who were resisting and therefore obstructing the implementation of utopia.

Actually not. This GlobalTimes.cn
is some Chinese Communist propaganda paper.
Probably blessed by Chairman Xi.
Kind of interesting to look at sometimes.
Just to see where are we heading!

Yes.
The Communists always need some straw man to blame for their problems. How else to explain that the Communist Paradise is not coming as promised?
USA has been always such a straw man.
Unfortunately, there are too many in the USA who do not see through that and believe that we are the problem!

The U.S. needs a U.S. Foreign Legion that it could send into Havana and clean out the communists once and for all.

This time it should be equipped with it’s own small air force.

Then, once it cleans up Havana, it could move on to Venezuela.

I’m speaking of operations sort of like what was done in Grenada and Panama.

Wait a minute. The US is the only place on earth from which supplies can be obtained? The US is the only foreign country that a country can do business with?

But I thought the US was a greedy capitalist exploiter. Shouldn’t Cuba celebrate the lack of business with the US? After all, this means their people have not been exploited at all.

Excellent propaganda comrades. It is all the US’ fault. Specifically Trump. If it wasn’t for the bad orangeman Cuba would return to the worker’s paradise it always was,
