WASHINGTON — A U.S. appeals court ruled Tuesday that the federal law banning handgun sales by licensed dealers to anyone under 21 is unconstitutional.
A panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, based in Richmond, Virginia, voted 2-1 to declare the law invalid. "Our nation's most cherished constitutional rights vest no later than 18. And the Second Amendment's right to keep and bear arms is no different," the majority opinion said.
The ruling, sure to be appealed, was a victory for a Virginia woman, Natalia Marshall. She wanted to buy a handgun to protect herself from her abusive ex-boyfriend and to defend herself in remote rural areas where she works with horses. When she was turned down by a licensed firearms dealer because she was 18, she filed a lawsuit to challenge the law.

The federal government can appeal the decision to the full appeals court or go directly to the U.S. Supreme Court.

At age 18,
you can marry,
you can make contracts,
you can go in the military
and kill as ordered,
you can vote,
you pretty much have all
the rights and privileges
of an adult.
However Democrats,
will not let you smoke,
will not let you drink,
will not let you purchase a gun,
All because you aren’t mature
enough to make adult decisions.
What is wrong with this Democrat

Just a guess, but it's that they'll go to the appellate court and hope for an overturn and that the SC will decline to hear the case. That's served well in the past. Could be wrong, of course.

They will appeal it. En Banc, the 4th Circuit is one of the most liberal courts in the nation. Wynn and Thacker make RBG look sane.
This panel was a Trump, G.W.B and Obama panel. What do you know it broke 2-1 along those same lines.
The full 4th Circuit is 9-6 Democrat and those Democrats are some of the most committed leftist swine on the federal judiciary.
Raise the drinking age to 25. Voting too.
I had to do my OWN background check for my young kid to buy a pistol with his own $$$ in my own dang name. Made NO sense.
He is a pastor and has needed that protection dealing with the public. Has come across some sketchy people and meth deals go on in the church parking lot all the time.
Car rental places also need to change their age policies.
