One of the Americans arrested for the assassination of Haiti’s president had been an informant for the Drug Enforcement Administration — the US agency the hit squad had claimed to be working for.
A DEA official confirmed to Reuters that the informant even reached out to his handlers after the hit, as CNN also claimed that “several” of those arrested had also been US informants, including for the FBI.
“DEA is aware of reports that President Moïse’s assassins yelled ‘DEA’ at the time of their attack,” a DEA official told the Herald.
“These individuals were not acting on behalf of DEA,” the source insisted.

I’m trying to imagine why they would yell something like that in the midst of an assassination.
What I don’t understand is why the DEA had to go to a foreign country to take out a bad actor when theyre are plenty worse right here in the USA.

I don’t think they were. I know some Haitians from Miami, and they’re insane...for one thing, it goes beyond super-heated political rivalries (such as that going on between the supposed Miami Haitian mastermind of the killing and the president who was assassinated) and gets into long-standing and vicious family feuds.
They’re very nice people and are fun to be around...until the question of Haitian politics comes up. And that’s what has kept that island so dysfunctional for so many years (that and US interference).
I think Haitians, alas, have the worst of African and French political cultures, combined with being within easy reach of the US.
Wouldn’t it be a shorter list of people who are NOT working for the DEA, FBI, etc? It seems everyone is on their payroll.
I wonder if this is the equivalent one drug cartel carrying out a hit on another drug cartel wirh the DEA in the mix.

Or the drug cartels ARE the DEA. Where does the assumption that the DEA isn’t entirely dirty come from? Unless proved otherwise all Federal police agencies should be considered entirely corrupt.
Defund local police = more crime.

The DEA has no authority in a sovereign country.
I take it then that this is the 'official' denial. We all know what that means.
Let's ask dead drug lord Manuel Noriega all about the DEA and their jurisdiction and kill squads.
