Well, that was fast.
Seems the Biden administration canard that COVID mismanagement from Cuban authorities is behind the massive protests engulfing all of Cuba didn't go over very well.
Everyone saw pictures of thousands of starving-thin Cubans clad in rags crying "libertad!" and waving the American flag — a flag they had been taught from birth was evil incarnate. What we saw was effectively a slave revolt, given that these people have absolutely no freedoms, and the uprising was leaderless and spontaneous. It could easily devolve into Ceaușescu stuff, given that nothing will change communists otherwise.
So Joe Biden, or whoever writes his press releases, released a semi-choate statement about the protests in Cuba that tried to recognize reality, but still failed to grasp the problem:
Biden's still sticking to his story on COVID, but now he's got "freedom" in there somewhere. He's now calling the protests a "universal" right rather than a Cuban right, since Cubans generally go to jail after protests — just ask the Ladies in White.
Though it was an improvement over previous statements, his claim that Cuba is an "authoritarian" rather than "totalitarian" dictatorship remained disgusting. If 62 years of iron-grip one-party power with total control over every aspect of human life isn't textbook "totalitarian," nothing is.

Over at the State Department, assistant secretary Julie Chung, who earlier blamed the whole crisis on COVID and apparently praised Cuba’s white-coat slavery program of sending doctors abroad, has backtracked a little, too. I wrote about her yesterday here.
It goes to show that COVID seems to be fading a bit as the official Biden party line on Cuba, and now the empty statements of “support” are coming out.
But the Bidenites still can’t bring themselves to utter the “c” word — communism — as being at the root of the uprising, which would require calling for an end to the hellish, hateful regime that has left the country a sump of poverty, oppression, and unusually cruel inequality.
Out on the left, it’s worth noting that Biden’s leftist base is heavily pressuring him to give Cuba’s communist oppressors the things they want, which is to say blaming the U.S. embargo for the protests, and calling on him to end it. The problem isn’t communism, you see; it’s the embargo, an argument the Castroites have been making since the 1960s.
Communism sucks.
They know it, but want to keep it hidden until they have us completely under their thumb.

Biden is gaslighting the public by pretending it’s about Covid instead of freedom.

Relations with the United States often act as a barometer for how optimistically or pessimistically Cubans view their future. When then-President Barack Obama famously declared during his 2016 trip to Havana that he had come “to bury the last remnants of the Cold War in the Americas,” people across the island breathed a sigh of relief.
But less than a year after Obama’s visit, Donald Trump took office and abruptly disinterred decades of Cold War animosity between the two countries.
Trump limited the ability of US citizens to visit the island, canceled US cruise travel to Cuba, forced out the one US-run hotel, cut off the billions of dollars in yearly remittances many Cuban Americans send back home and returned Cuba to the list of countries that sponsor state terrorism.
As Cubans reeled from the increased sanctions and their own increasingly wary government’s clampdown, the pandemic struck.
Food lines — already a daily ritual for many Cubans — wrapped around blocks and forced people to congregate as the number of coronavirus cases climbed higher and higher.
For many Cubans the choice was one between going hungry and risking infection.
Even though anti-government demonstrations are prohibited in Cuba, the protesters seemed to not fear arrest.
The government responded by sending in counter-protesters, some who chanted “I am Fidel!”
Police dragged off scores of the protesters, forcibly detaining them.
Videos shared on social media showed demonstrators pelting police cars with rocks and even overturning several of the vehicles.
By late Sunday, heavily armed police and special forces troops regained control of the streets in Havana and other parts of Cuba.

This is the paradise that members of the squad, Obama and Soros envision; however they will be the ones controlling the mobs that will be cracking down on the people. It’s a sick distorted vision but this what they want.
They can’t afford to acknowledge that the cubans are revolting against teh veyr thing they plan to do to us. That’s why they pretty much ignored Hong Kong as well.
I do not think Biden has dimentia, but that he does not have all that much brain power to work with. That is why Obama took so long to endorse him. The proof of that is that he refuses to acknowledge that the Cuban people are sick of being suppressed by Communism and being deprived of advancement and material elements that people in the rest of the world are availed of. He is so slow that he continues to insist it is because of Covid 19 and the pandemic. He does not realize what people are thinking of him and his intelligence.
