The White House on Thursday dismissed the deletion of a tweet with an image of Taiwan’s flag by its COVID Response Team as an “honest mistake.”
“This was an honest mistake that was made by the team handling graphics and social media, and should not in any way be viewed as a shift in official US policy. When we recognized the mistake, we removed the tweet,” press secretary Jen Psaki said at the White House daily press briefing.
She said the US remains committed to the One China Policy, which recognizes the People’s Republic of China but not Taiwan’s independence.

If you have to add the word “honest” to any explanation ...it means it wasn’t.
Deprraved and corrupt.
After the assassination of Haitian president they broke in to the Taiwan Embassy.
There’s something going on coordinated by the ChiComs and Rainbow-Flag Cartel.
Master Xi was not pleased.
BS! The US has NEVER committed to that policy. Until now.
“If you have to add the word “honest” to any explanation ...it means it wasn’t.”
Exactly right. The word “honest” is right up there with “Let me be clear...”
"White House coordinator for the Indo-Pacific Kurt Campbell said this week the U.S. does “not support Taiwan independence” but does “very much support Taiwan’s dignity."
As if that statement means anything except "Taiwan is yours for the taking, Xi"
DC is compromised and is acting against its own citizens on the behalf of a foreign power.
Jen Psaki…..
Nancy Pelosi’s mini me.
The One China Policy was pushed by the Dems under the peanut president. check it out. Old news.
Do you HAVE to be a moron to work in the Biden WH? I mean, is THAT the pre requisite?
LOL. You are absolutely right about that.
If Free People are not worth fighting for then who are?-)
There is no such thing as honest with any democrat.
It depends. Will it be written by the CCO and its ancillaries, or by a free people?
I thought we always backed Taiwan independence?????
Get rid of the communist junta.
” “Taiwan is yours for the taking, Xi””
I read an article about how the Korean War started. If I recall, the then Secretary of Defense was being interviewed and he said something like, It’s not in our strategic interest to defend South Korea. The war started about a month later. The article followed the series of events and concluded that the statement by the Sec Def was a clear, unambiguous go-ahead to the North Koreans that they could take Sough Korea without a fight. The article made a good case. This points out the danger of having unclear policies and government officials making stupid off-script statements. *coughbiden* Anyone with half a brain would not wave a red flag like that in front of a bull.
I was talking to a retired man who had spent his entire career in the state department advising higher up people on how to act and what to say. He was a idiot who had no idea how anything actually worked. His notion of what motivated people was so off-key it was as though he’d never met a bully or someone who would lie. Amazing that people like him are in government and sometimes make policy.
The White House suddenly heard from Qualcomm and Silicon Valley.
I suspect the discussion went one direction.
SV -> Biden: “You have no idea what is going on in Taiwan”
