Focus of his trip was the education part of his 'human' infrastructure plan

His speech in Illinois drew about 100 protesters holding signs for Donald Trump

McHenry County, where Biden made his remarks, went for the former president in the 2020 election

'We should have a minimum of 14 years of education,' the president said, 'without spending a cent'

Biden also called for his child tax credit to be expanded until 2025

Payments for the child tax credit start on July 15

14 years of bad education would be so much better than 12 years...

More reason to get Federal.government OUT of education completely.

I think it’s safe to say there won’t be too much testing in those 14 years.

But without ‘racist’ courses like math, right?
~~~~~~~~~~~
Wish I saved the course descriptions of a ‘woke’ college curriculum in which they took great pains to explain how the new algebra class would dispose of all racist assumptions and focus on Aztec and other underserved contributions blah blah blah. It was a marvel to read.
Same thing with English comp - finally they were doing away with the assumptions of Eurocentrist language studies and creating something ‘new’ from the richness of ignored cultures.
Stupidity. I finished high school at 16, UCSD at 19. The schools had a solid Summer school program that allowed completing high school in 2 years. UCSD was 18 to 22 units per quarter except only 16 in the Summer due to limited offering. The K-12 public schools bored me. They are far worse in 2021 compared to 1973.
K-12 schools are financed using local property taxes. It's not a trivial amount of money and it comes out whether you have children attending the public schools or not. Dementia Joe is clueless about how school costs are financed.
Don’t teach hating ones country without learning a country of preferred destination.
Eliminate the summer vacation.
The wailing & gnashing of teeth by the educators would truly be a sight to behold.
Yup. Fourteen years in school and there are students who can’t even read their diplomas. This country needs to get back to basics.
Teach reading, writing, math, science, history, a foreign language and critical thinking. Here’s an 8th grade test from a town in Kentucky in 1912. Kids back then got more education in 8 years than they do today in 12.
