14 years of teaching kids that 2 + 2 = 5 and that math is racist and that the country is racist and that you can change your sex will produce MORONS that are two years older than what the system is producing now.
Two more years in our failure factory schools sure is going to help us compete. Kids in China are learning calculus while in the US kids are taught to count the 37 genders and ponder what pronouns to use this week. Kids in Europe learn several languages while in the US kids are immersed in Marxist critical race theory.
Good luck w/ that, Biteme, because you’ll have to criminalize dropping out in order to keep urban blacks in high school (but that’d be raaacist):
Chicago Public Schools (CPS)
Cohort Dropout Rates
Black, Non-Hispanic/Male
2017: 27.2%
2018: 26.0%
2019: 25.5%
2020: 22.9%
Here for explanation of the numbers, a study of a cohort 626 students between 2015 and 2020 (and, you guessed it, they get 5 years to “graduate” from high school): https://www.cps.edu/globalassets/cps-pages/about/district-data/metrics/5-yr-grad-rate-fact-sheet.pdf
Oh, and that cohort can only include students who were marked present at least one day during 9th grade (!) and were in the 9th grade for the first time. That is to say, these rates, as appalling as they are, don’t touch the disaster our urban public policies have created.
See: https://www.cps.edu/about/district-data/metrics/
Meanwhile, CPS is bragging about higher graduation rates and lower drop-out rates in 2020... doh, kinda missing out of the key reason: using the shutdown as an excuse, they’re passing kids along with F’s. According to this article, https://www.wbez.org/stories/in-pandemics-wake-numbers-tell-the-story-of-a-devastating-year-for-many-chicago-students/36fc7420-8919-4cb1-8c2d-5ceaa8afe1bc, 10 schools had failure rates (Fs as % of all grades— across all classes, that 9s) were from 30-39%.
And you, my dear Freepers, are the racists...
This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)
The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.
