New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo declared a state of emergency for gun violence on Tuesday, marking the first of its kind ever enacted in the United States, the governor’s office said.
According to Cuomo’s office, the emergency declaration requires the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services to “gather and share incident-level data” from local law enforcement on gun violence and invests almost $140 million in intervention, prevention and jobs programs.
The order also establishes the Office of Gun Violence Prevention to “coordinate efforts and direct resources to emerging gun violence hot spots” and creates a new state police gun trafficking unit to stem the flow of illegal firearms into New York.
“This new strategy treats gun violence as a public health crisis, using short-term solutions to manage the immediate gun violence crisis and reduce the shooting rate, as well as long-term solutions that focus on community-based intervention and prevention strategies to break the cycle of violence,” Gov. Cuomo’s office said in a statement. “The disaster emergency allows the State to expedite money and resources to communities so they can begin targeting gun violence immediately.”

Crime is necessary to justify confiscation of firearms that could be turned against the usurpers.

I definitely agree. "COO-mo" [per Jesse Jackson] and his staff and security team should start by foregoing the use or carrying of firearms as an example for the citizens of the state--and especially for those who have been committing "gun violence."

The above language sounds like something Trump would say, alleged election-stealing Democrats now probably trying to steal some of Trump's thunder.
Surely Gov. Cuomo has also applied for federal assistance under the Constitution's Article IV, Section 4 to help suppress domestic violence. /sarc

On the other hand, Congress needs to be vigilant with respect to Cuomo possibly using his state of emergency as a politically correct excuse to attack 2nd Amendment-protected rights, such action prohibited by the 14th Amendment (14A).

No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States [emphasis added]; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.
Section 5: The Congress shall have power to enforce, by appropriate legislation, the provisions of this article.
Or is the corrupt, post-17th Amendment ratification, Democratic-controlled Congress predictably going to munch popcorn while watching CNN show Cuomo taking away citizens' guns?
A part of the remedy for dealing with very corrupt federal and state governments...
Patriots need to primary candidates for Congress who don't clearly promise to use their 14A power to investigate people like Cuomo and get him out of power if necessary.
It is about time we cracked down on those artificially intelligent guns that are slaughtering humans in the street.

You nailed it. The Marxist Dems are on the offense all the time and have very strong party discipline. The Republicans rarely stick together and can't sustain the effort long. They have weak party discipline when they have any. Example, Liz Cheney has joined Pelosi's kangaroo Jan 6 special committee. She should have been stripped of all committee assignments and perks and booted out of the GOP caucus. She wasn't.
So, they stop locking up criminals, disband the Anti Crime squad, do away with bail and then they declare a state of emergency? Pure lying evil.

I don’t think Frank Luntz gave McCarthy permission to punish her, as that would have made her a martyr and drawn attention to her...as if they’re not going to put her front and center anyway.
