After receiving backlash, a new “God Bless the USA” Bible has been dropped by a large Christian publisher.
HarperCollins Christian Publishing, Zondervan’s parent company, retracted an agreement to print the Bible inspired by country music singer Lee Greenwood, in the New International Version, after a petition gained traction among Christians.
According to Religion Unplugged, John Morehead — a concerned Christian in Utah — created the petition. He said, “This is a toxic mix that will exacerbate the challenges to American evangelicalism, adding fuel to the Christian nationalism and anti-Muslim sentiments found in many segments of the evangelical church.”

A concerned Christian? Sort of like Mickie Weinstein only wants to separate Church and State.
As with attacks on the American Flag, will the Bible publishers now offer to meekly delete any mentions of Jesus from the new editions? Don’t like that messy controversial stuff, you know.
Translation: Marxist-Globalist-Socialist-Revisionist buzz-words that are formed into a boiler-plate/ straw-man "Argument" against JESUS-centered humility under HIS authority.

How long before being a Christian becomes a crime?
He is a christian who grew up watching horror movies, and fancies himself as a creative force bridging the two worlds.
How one person can sway a corporation is demonstrative of the cowardice of corporations.
I smell romney here.
They are probably busy working on the Anti Christ approved New World Order editon.
I read that and I wanted to puke.
Looking more like the Lutheran church in Germany under Hitler’s leadership. It was essentially nationalized and an arm of the government. Bonhoeffer could not abide with it, nor should we.
What exactly is objectionable about a “God Bless the USA” edition of The Bible?
What exactly is somehow “anti-Muslim” about a “God Bless the USA” edition of The Bible, as opposed to every other version of The Bible out there?
What is the objection to “Christian nationalism”? Is that even an actual organization or theology, or just some word salad someone made up? Is there supposedly some disconnect or contradiction involved, with being a devout Christian and loving America? What they heck are they talking about?
We might need some beck spray, too.
All this so-called petition offers is just nonsensical-arguments
that absolutely-FAIL to prove that such a patriotic-oriented version of the HOLY SCRIPTURES
would truly bring any mental/ physical damages, losses, insecurities or deprivations of basic human rights
under the exercise of Free Speech and Freedom of Commerce or even
Freedom of Religion.
Though the opposition to this may be anti-american in nature, make no mistake, the publisher is doing this merely for the money.
If it was successful, it would have been followed by the “Women’s God Bless the USA’ Edition”, then the “Devotional God Bless the USA Edition”, then the “Kid’s God Bless the USA Edition”... until sales started to taper off.
Then some other gimmick would be sought.
I have seen how these publishers operate first hand. It ain’t pretty, and it’s all about the money.
Wow! What next? Banning the Gospel from the Bible? This country needs saving now.
God’s Word stands alone and requires no gimmicky translations of any kind. Those are for fakers.
When Greenwood sings “where at least I know I’m free,” it sounds like he’s saying there are many things wrong with America except for this one thing that he knows. I’d prefer a more patriotic song.
So you don’t consider freedom to be the most important thing you can have?
