It’s no secret that fireworks can cause some serious air pollution, in the United States as well as in other countries where holiday displays are common, like China and India. But not everyone is equally at risk from the noxious particles that suffuse the sky during our pyrotechnic light shows. In California, for example, vulnerable populations are more exposed to fireworks pollution on the Fourth of July.

The author should be honest: she hates the 4th of July and whst it represents.
Uh huh. “Whatever you’re doing is wrong.” Thanks for the input, my dear, now piss off.
“vulnerable population” = democratic voters who are apparently to stupid to vote (according to democrats) and too stupid to live anywhere besides horrible inner city slums that democrats created.
Remember when National Geographic just showed leopards eating other animals and naked indians of the rainforests?
Last time I (and my neighbors) had something to celebrate aka setting off fireworks was when RBG took a dirt nap. Not so much today with the illegitimate occupation in the white house. And yeah I live in a very blue state but have purchased my fireworks from PA.

Can’t fool me!

“Set on ground - light fuse - get away”
Where’s the fun in that?
But if there was a fireworks spectacular for Juneteenth, I’m sure NatGeo would be silent on the issue. Only things which make the general public happy about themselves are to be regulated, something celebrating collective guilt or fringe groups are always welcome.

Wait till she sees what the Chinese/Russian/Iranian/Korean nuclear attack on the United States does.
I could see it coming a mile away. OMG, will they please stfu?
One of my favorite summer events is a local steam tractor show. The air positively wreaks of incomplete coal combustion. Add to that the ubiquitous horse manure, and you have a pretty close facsimile to city life 150 years ago. The only things missing are animal carcasses, and open sewers and outhouses.
I find the show almost as refreshing as getting back to the clean air of 2021.
Stop griping people. We have it good.
Did not a spoof magazine produce an issue titled “NATIONAL PORNOGRAPHIC” years ago?
