Southern California metropolitan areas also tend to have fewer restrictions on municipal fireworks shows and looser oversight of at-home fireworks use compared with their counterparts in Northern California.
Of course more densely populated areas are more likely to have fireworks than rural areas, and thus more older individuals and small children, and more Black and Hispanic residents - and more "home shows" but that is one of the prices you pay for more jobs, stores and community.
