I really didn't think things would continue to keep getting crazier, but this article is proof indeed they are.

It would seem to be the cheapest of the ideas floating around out there.
Though one should expect to simply move on to adding the next.
And large amounts of free money couldn’t possibly have negative results. /s

Don’t worry. It’s a “trust fund” so that means it’s fiscally sound /s

Ummm….if this is about closing a gap, how does giving each baby the same $1000? Not saying that they should only give to certain kids but if the gap is the issue that is not going to change. Clearly these people don’t understand math and economics.

Gee, They are already getting 2 to 3000 every year in child tax credit and then the ones who actually bothered to work get thousands more in earned income tax credit
Let’s just have the people who have kids just don’t pay any taxes at all how’s that

The tidal wave of people heading over the border to get that cash for their bambinos will make the Phuket wave look like a splash.

$1k at birth was my idea. No withdrawals until age 59 and 1/2. Put it in the S&P 500. Watch it grow. Ones mind think will develop different. If the owner commits a crime their payday will get penalized. They’ll rethink college, perhaps go to trade schools. Allow contributions throughout life and let them make the 50-50 stock/bonds choice at age 50. People who don’t care to work will not want to talk about everyone’s favorite subject-account balance. ‘you got a little one’. Get it?

creates a federally funded trust fund account
And politicians will have their hands on the key to the lockbox -- to make sure they, the politicians, can access the funds when they need the money.

Um. Why is Black capitalized and white is not capitalized? It’s one of the latest cute little media tricks, driven by its pathetic inferiority complex.

every newborn baby in the U.S. wait a minute there. If a baby, born of US citizens is born abroad, they don’t get the ten C notes?
I smell a law suit brewing.

how about a zero dollar plan
direct deposit banks to withhold $5 a month from AFDC recipients and put that into a fund? Over two years, that’s more than $1,000. Since banks profit from an increase in liquid capital that can be lended at interest, there should be no cost to the govt or the AFDC recipient.
