Sha’Carri Richardson is speaking out and making no excuses as she’s suspended from Team USA over a positive drug test.

I'm not sure why pot is considered an illegal drug for athletes (especially in states where it is considered legal). It certainly does not enhance athletic performance.

Just because its legal doesn’t mean you can use it whenever you want.

Early on after it was legalized in Colorado a cable employee got terminated for testing positive for pot....he took it to court and the court sided with the employer.

Any organization has the right to implement and enforce a zero tolerance policy IMO.....just my 2 cent

Although I have a Class A CDL, I’ve never paid close attention to the drug testing stuff since I don’t consume anything that would show up on the test.

But, doesn’t it clear your system within a certain length of time where it won’t show up on a drug test? Like, don’t smoke for 2-3 days and you’ll be ok?

I would assume all athletes know they’re going to be tested. And if they’re competing they know when they would need to be ‘clean’. Then don’t use close enough to get caught! I’ve had truck driver friends who will have a beer on Friday night, but refuse on Saturday night because they’ll be driving on Monday morning and don’t want to risk being caught in a random test.

I can see why may companies/organizations would not want to allow their employees to be high at work.

I do not see why an athlete would be punished for using pot. If anything, it would degrade their performance.

Legal or not, we don’t need potheads stoned on the job. Just like alcohol.

Though many potheads think they do better while stoned. No one else around them thinks so. Methheads think they are doing great too.
