U.S. economy added 850,000 jobs in June as labor market showed renewed strength

The U.S. economy added 850,000 jobs in June as the pace of the recovery surged — quieting simmering fears, at least temporarily, of more lasting harm from labor and supply shortages.

The unemployment rate changed little, ticking up to 5.9 percent from 5.8 percent.

The news is likely to be seen as a good sign for the economy more than one year into the pandemic, after numerous wrinkles have emerged to complicate a labor recovery many hoped would be faster at this level of vaccinations.

“It’s a pretty strong report,” said Kate Bahn, an economist at the Washington Center for Equitable Growth. “This overshot expectations. And the job growth was in the industries that had been so hard hit. This is pointing to signs that we’re growing back exactly where we need to be growing back.”

This is the same s$it Obama pulled with Obamacare. 13 million people thrown off insurance, 7 million signed on to Obamacare and the media reported it as a 60% increase in “new” Obamacare signups.

It very much is happening more in red states than blue. I have to assume it’s because of the early expiration of federal jobless benefits in the more conservative states.

How many of those so-called “new hires” occurred in states that have stopped subsidizing “staying at home”?

one of these is wrong...

notice how “changed little” is an increase where it should have been a DECREASE...

How many of those jobs are located in the states which stopped extra funding for unemployment? That is the real question.

Not necessarily. When calculating the unemployment rate they only count people who say they're actively looking for a job.

If people start to go off of unemployment or get off the sidelines for other reasons it can cause the unemployment rate to tick up.

In fact, in a fairly hot economy like this it's viewed as a good sign that more people are entering or returning to the workforce.

Misinformation it’s due to people returning to their jobs Biden’s pay to stay at home plan is fading only 23 states still allow slacker pay.

The wages they are paying is ridiculous. The Big Mac I just ordered cost me $4,320.00 without fries.

Fast food places around the country are begging for help offering up to $15.00 an hour and no takers.
