House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy is calling for an investigation into the National Security Agency after Fox News’s Tucker Carlson alleged that the Biden administration is spying on him.

In a statement, McCarthy said Carlson's claims are part of a “disturbing trend” that he’s witnessed at the NSA over the last several months.

“Earlier this year, I sent a letter to Secretary of Defense Austin expressing concern over the politicization of the Agency through the sidelining of Michael Ellis as NSA General Counsel. I asked that Mr. Ellis be reinstated and expressed my concern regarding undue political influence in NSA placing Mr. Ellis on administrative leave,” the California Republican said.

“Separately, it has recently come to my attention that NSA has refused to deliver information requested by the Republican Members on the House Intelligence Committee who are trying to fulfill their oversight responsibilities.”

He then listed Carlson’s allegations against the NSA.

For the past several months, I've seen a disturbing trend at the National Security Agency. The NSA cannot be used as a political instrument.

I’ve asked Rep. Devin Nunes to investigate and find answers on behalf of the American people.

“Disturbed” “troubled” and “concerned” = the entirety of the Fighting Republican’s arsenal as our nation slips away.

“The NSA cannot be used as a political instrument.”

Yes, it can be, and it is used as a political weapon. That’s reality.

Yes...there’s too much proof to assert otherwise, but they will all stick to their stories to the grave. Very sad! A true government of the people would pardon Snowden and bring him to DC for hearings!

I am happy that there will be an investigation even if nothing happens. The mass media just wanted to laugh off the Tucker Carlson spying story.

It may not be the NSA itself. Find out who has access to their database.

Sure. But even if the GOP were in the majority they would never take action after any hearing. Defund the NSA? No chance. Restrict them? Not a hope. The GOP wants to use the spy capability for themselves as well.

The Deep State has dirt and compromising blackmail information on everyone in public position or office. If they can’t find any, they manufacture it. Keep this fact in mind when State and Federal officials, judges, legislators, and other persons in power, act in crazy unexplainable ways in making official decisions. Or, like Governor Kemps daughter’s fiance, they die in unexplained auto accidents/suicides. That explains a lot.

Meh, they’re only calling for investigations now because they’re in the minority and they know the calls will go nowhere. When they’re in the majority and actually have the opportunity to reform things, they never do squat.

This is smoke and mirrors from McCarthy. He wants the spotlight moved from focusing on him working with Democrats on amnesty to this.
