Cable bill, cell phone bill, Internet bill, house insurance . . everything goes up every time I get a monthly bill. What's going on? How many taxes/fees are there to my cell phone or internet? A bunch. Somebody's getting free cable, free cell phone and free internet at my expense. It could be those thousands of immigrants Biden is letting in every single day.

” it’s nearly as much as the federal government collects in income and corporate taxes in a year. “
And all those “corporate taxes” are paid by... their consumers.
Who pays the Social Security tax?
The consumers do.

"taxes/fees are there to my cell phone"
It is only earlier this century that the Federal Phone Tax to pay for the Spanish/American War was Sunset...once it was revealed it was still in effect.

I figure at least a third to half of my income is taken by taxes and “fees” of one kind or another, then there is this, the hidden costs. Yet they say we are greedy and selfish if we don’t want to pay more.

“The report estimates the economic costs of federal regulation at an astounding $1.9 trillion annually.”
Cars and trucks are a good example. There are thousands of pages of regulation they have to meet. I’ve often wondered how much a car would cost if it didn’t have to meet any rules.
My guess is it would be only a few thousand.

The report estimates the economic costs of federal regulation at an astounding $1.9 trillion annually. What do they estimate the economic benefit of these regulations to be?
Is there some benefit to having foods that don't make us sick, drugs that are safe and effective, cars that keep us from getting injured in an accident, clean and safe drinking water?
I don't doubt that there's a net cost to regulation but only looking at one side of the equation is childish.

Stop being so picky. Everyone knows we are better off if rickshaws are permitted on the Interstate Highway System. :-P

Look up the Roxor less than $20K but not Street legal in most states. I would get one if it was Street legal at that price but I have enough common sense to keep it off the Interstate.

Yes, and utilities, fuel, just about everything is regulated to death.
