The dangerous Delta variant of the coronavirus is spreading so quickly in the United States that it's likely the mutant strain will become predominant in the nation within weeks, according to federal health officials and a new analysis.
At a White House briefing on COVID-19 on Tuesday, Dr. Anthony Fauci of the National Institutes of Health said 20.6% of new cases in the U.S. are due to the Delta variant. And other scientists tracking the variant say it is on track to become the dominant virus variant in the U.S.
"The Delta variant is currently the greatest threat in the U.S. to our attempt to eliminate COVID-19," Fauci said. He noted that the proportion of infections being caused by the variant is doubling every two weeks.
The variant, first identified in India, is the most contagious yet and, among those not yet vaccinated, may trigger serious illness in more people than other variants do, he said.

Yes, this is likely true but it will simply, for the most part, extend individual immunity to more individuals who do not yet have individual immunity from either vaccination or previous COVID-19 infection. It will be an inevitable crawl toward a higher population immunity threshold caused by the variant’s higher infectiousness. This is INEVITABLE whether people are required to wear ineffective masks or not.

The WHO decided that it was badthink to refer to the location where each variant was first detected, and decided that they would use the Greek alphabet to name them. So out with the “Kent variant”, and in with Alpha, Beta, Gamma, and Delta.

Delta is like 50% more infectious- and that’s all we know about it so far.
We know that Delta has a 3.25 time higher death rate, in VACCINATED people.

The mistake that killed the most Americans was the failure of the CDC covid tests early in the pandemic- when we needed them most.

Most info is coming from them, but their concentration on vaxxing the old and frail- and not vaxxing the young skews their data.
IE: myth that Delta attacks the young more, and myth that it’s worse for vaxxed.
