Sorry, I don’t believe anything from the ComPost
Just more communist movement inspired BS to discourage Americans from celebrating the nation’s birthday
“The more I find out about people, the more I like my dog.”
~ Mark Twain
I lost a friend from middle school because of his morbid covid fear. We used to talk once a week or so long distance (he doesn’t have a mobile device or computer). He gets all of his news from the alphabet networks. Tried to tell him most of what he was hearing about the pandemic was BS, and he exploded. He hung up on me and we haven’t spoken since. That’s been months ago. I think a lot of these people who would ordinarily vote Republican, voted for Biden because of this non-stop fearmongering by Fauci and the media.
Did they poll every American to get that figure or just select college faculty and members of teachers’ unions? I know BS when I smell it and this poll smells to high heaven.
Agreed. Don’t let the Grinch win. Be a Who from Whoville and celebrate Independence day.
And the incessant Trump bashing on the media, people started to believe their lies and just wanted Orange Man news to go away.
Last year we had the same July 4 gathering we have always had. Don’t know about this year with the holiday falling on a Sunday.
...and replace it with “Juneteenth” (insert best buck-tooth emoticon here).
The stores are crowded!
I would be interested in the demographics of that poll. I’d wager that it looks an awful lot like the red/blue voting map of the US from the last presidential election...
Translation: more than half the people we talked to, who even bother to answer our dumbass poll, are scared of their own shadow.
Well, to be fair, I didn’t read it right.
They stated only 10% thought it posed a “moderate” or high risk.
The 75% includes “small risk”.
I could be included in that category. I agree it’s a small risk, but the risk is negligible and the disease is only somewhat risky itself. Not worth the hand-wringing.
Combined with the timing of making Juneteenth a national holiday. Create a separate independence day for one race.
That will work well.
I guess the Covid risks of attending the “peaceful protests” were minimal because of all the fires. Viruses apparently don’t like fire.
:)
Half of the American population have a below average IQ. That is a scientific fact.
With the uncontrolled border, it is risky. There are a lot of people out there who hate us that can enter the country easily now. Heck, there are enough BLM and PROUD types that do not have to sneak in; they are already here.
Thankfully, all my family passed on years ago, so I don’t have to deal with any family disputes about the virus, or how I react to it. I’m spending the 4th of July with my niece and her family, along with my sister-in-law (my brother’s widow), at their camps in Cape Vincent, NY. They’re down to earth, and didn’t buy-in to the fear mongering. In a week or so, I’ll be heading to Indiana to visit my youngest son for a couple of weeks. My life has been pretty normal since this all started. I live alone, and have basically been practicing social distancing since I retired in 2003, mostly because after working in uniform in New York State’s prison system for 25 years, I can’t stand being around stupid people, and there’s way too many of them out and about these days to suit me.
We didn’t do much for 4th of July, but we did have a WEDDING for my daughter last year on July 11th. Had about 60 people there. Being in an airplane hangar, it was very well ventilated. No one wore masks. Sadly, only a few people from out of town came; no grandparents of the couple.
But it turned out that no one got Covid-19 from attending the wedding. Thank goodness we have a sane governor, who was allowing groups/gatherings by then.
