How Space Became the Next ‘Great Power’ Contest Between the U.S. and China
New York Times ^ | Jan. 24, 2021 | William J. Broad

Posted on 06/28/2021 9:55:43 AM PDT by daniel1212

Beijing’s rush for antisatellite arms began 15 years ago. Now, it can threaten the orbital fleets that give the United States military its technological edge. Advanced weapons at China’s military bases can fire warheads that smash satellites and can shoot laser beams that have a potential to blind arrays of delicate sensors...

In decades past, especially during the “Star Wars” program of the Reagan administration, conflict in space was often portrayed as shootouts in orbit. That has changed . With few exceptions, the weapons are no longer seen as circling the planet but as being deployed from secure bases. So, too, the targets are no longer swarms of nuclear warheads but fleets of satellites, whose recurring, predictable paths..make them far easier to destroy...

For years, the Chinese studied — with growing anxiety — the American military, especially its invasions of Afghanistan in 2001 and Iraq in 2003. The battlefield successes were seen as rooted in space dominance...“They saw how the U.S. projected power,” said Todd Harrison ...“And they saw that it was largely undefended...”

In 2005, China began to incorporate cyberattacks into its military exercises, primarily in first strikes against enemy networks. Increasingly, its military doctrine called for paralyzing early attacks .... In 2008, hackers seized control of a civilian imaging satellites..

Washington’s Response...After decades..the Pentagon was now finding an unconventional edge all its own..turning the space agency into a major funder of entrepreneurial strides...Military planners saw smaller, cheaper, more numerous craft as making antisatellite targeting vastly more difficult — in some cases impossible — for an adversary..Developing states, small companies and even high schools are now lofting spacecraft into orbit. ...Luxembourg runs more satellites than Spain, Italy or Germany.

Excerpt (only 300 words allowed from NYT) of a quite informative article.

As America is being degraded and destroyed from within by shameless sin and demonic perversions of what God has ordained, enemies without grown stronger.

And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, [spiritually] Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. (Revelation 18:4)

Too bad the Biden administration thinks Space Force is a joke.

Interesting that name, William J. Broad.

Billy Idol’s real name is William M. Broad.

I’m more worried about Chinese weapons in Congress, the Georgia Governors office and in corporate boardrooms.

Yes, I really want you in my foxhole. Are you going to pray them to death or what?

When Space Force worries about ferreting out men like Lohmier, they do not deserve our support. How can they defend us against communist China while indoctrinating their people with CRT communism and trashing the consititution.

Pick a team Space Force.

The real answer: Bill Clinton sold them the technology to launch satellites. They were glued to terra firma before he gave them that.

Space is a problem for us. Our economy is very dependent on communications satellites and GPS, but those satellites are vulnerable and impossible to defend.

In even a small conflict with Russia or China they could bring them all down.

One could argue the US has already ceded control of outer space to the Chinese when we decided to monitize space rather than militarize it. Will SpaceX and Blue Orgin offer any offensive/defensive capabilities to America? Apologies of course to the X-37 B.

SpaceX, yes. Blue Origin, unlikely. And NASA isn't going away. Military launches happen all the time.

Sadly, we are paying for their military build up with our free trade deals while simultaneously borrowing money from them so our troops can get their gender correction reassignment confirmation surgeries paid for.

"Yes, I really want you in my foxhole. Are you going to pray them to death or what?"

So I post this why? You are confusing spiritual warfare in that real and physical combat in the real of the state - both are combat and the end goal is victory and neither excludes the other. The spiritual declension of the West is what is behind the rising ascendancy of evil forces within and without, and so in answer to your question, my order would be to pray before I go in the foxhole and this fearlessly shoot to slay and capture many of the enemy without. Pray and press.

U.S. Will Allow Computer Sale To Court China By Elaine Sciolino Nov. 19, 1993

In a good-will gesture toward China, the Clinton Administration has agreed to sell it a sophisticated $8 million supercomputer, senior Administration officials said today.... The Administration decided to allow the sale despite clear evidence that China has broken its promises to Washington by exporting M-11 missile components and technology to Pakistan. Those exports violated an international missile control accord. The computer is for use in weather prediction by China's State Meteorological Administration...Mr. Christopher also told Mr. Qian that the United States would be prepared to interpret an American law governing the export of high technology to China to allow the export of two of the seven sophisticated American-made satellites banned by sanctions imposed on China in August, senior Administration officials said. - https://www.nytimes.com/1993/11/19/world/us-will-allow-computer-sale-to-court-china.html

That too. I was referring to this: "Previous to the 1996 election the Loral Corporation, run by top Democratic Party donor Bernie Swartz, sold sensitive military "satellite" nuclear missle launching technology to the Communist Chinese Goverment. The State Department and the National Security Council opposed the sale of this technology. As reported on NewsMax, Bill Clinton over-rode these objections bypassing normal procedures to allow the sale of this important technology to the Communist Chinese Government."

https://www.newsmax.com/Pre-2008/Communist-ChineseLoral/2001/04/23/id/661573/

And

"The missile-technology-transfer case highlighted the pro-China export policies of the Clinton administration, which critics say damaged U.S. national security. The technology provided by Loral allowed China to increase the reliability of its space-launch boosters, which U.S. intelligence officials said are identical to the boosters used in its long-range nuclear missiles and built by the same state-run firm."

It gave them the ability to launch satellites AND intercontinental ballistic missiles. Bill Clinton is a damned traitor, sold out security for a handful of shekels, that greedy piece of excrement.

"It gave them the ability to launch satellites AND intercontinental ballistic missiles."

Suicidal. One result of choosing demonic delusions is that of believing the lies of your enemies. "The computer is for use in weather prediction." Or going ahead with such sales despite knowing how it will be used.

It’s not like there was no public outcry at the time, nor warnings from the intelligence and defense communities. There were. Bill Clinton knew what he was doing. He was just so damned greedy that he didn’t care. The Chinese bought him, plain and simple.

Dude, you’re taking yourself way to seriously. I was just joking around. I know full well the difference between spirituality and reality. I guess I should have added the LOL.

"Cost of upgrade from $43 ram memory to $60 for 500gb SSD or total $250 for 8gb ram and 1tb SSD and $10 external enclosure (may need 2)."

Getting a 500GB SSD (about $60) and cloning the OS to run off that would alone greatly increase speed. And thanks for helping him.
