Truth.
Zero attempt to ever assess situations.
Yep, AZ has got it right.
This is almost certainly a case of the cop not giving the guy a chance to surrender the rifle.
I witnessed a police shooting from my office window years ago. Cops yelled “put the gun down” while their drew their weapons. The guy hadn’t dropped it by the time they leveled their sights so they shot him. It was that bang, bang, bang. It looked like a Hollywood movie with brass flying everywhere.
“ Even the military rules of engagement during conflict are more sane and logical than the current rules of engagement being practiced against CITIZENS by law enforcement.”
Nailed it, the above is the litmus test I apply to all officer involved shootings. Simply replace the officer with one of our servicemen, and the citizen with a citizen in the nation where we are deployed.
Quite simply, our police officers must be held to a higher standard for use of deadly force than our troops abroad.
No order?
My days are full order without a cop in sight.
Back off on the hyperbole.
Bless you.
That is a damn shame. Police officers need to endure a heightened level of risk, as their dealings are with American citizens. Those that cannot, must resign.
This caww is something else man. Total traitor to the conservative movement.
He mentioned that he doesn’t “neighbor” with anyone. Unbeknownst to him, he’s doing the country a favor.
I said it before and I’ll say it again, he will sell out any Patriot for a few pieces of silver.
Cops are civilians.
Wishing for the riots in the streets to start /s
Wishing = waiting. OOPS
We live in a society which (on average) is ever more educated yet also dumber.
Educational institutions that people call private receive a lot of government funds. Government funding reduce the quality of education.
Nobody joins the Marines in wartime thinking of their retirement package - they know that they have a dangerous duty to perform and they'll do it, even if it means that tomorrow will never come for them. Think policing is dangerous? Try 400 dead Marines in the 1st Marine Division alone in one week in August 1966.
Policing today is all about arrests, maintaining control of your subjects, and the power of life or death. They have lost any connection or sense of responsibility to the people they are supposedly protecting.
A couple of years ago, my daughter was chased by an attempted kidnapper in the store we were in together. I confronted him and after a smirking "don't make a big deal of it" from him, he ran out of the store. I called the police and the responding officer was obviously annoyed to have been called into the case and interrogated my 13 year old - and very shook up - girl aggressively, as if she were just making everything up. After he was done, I contacted the Chief of Police to complain - but nothing ever happened and that guy is still at large. Remember Columbine? All those impressively armed and equipped cops just stood outside the building and waited until the gunmen were finished killing kids. Real police, police from back when cops took risks for their people, would have gone straight in and fought - but things have changed.
At best, he should have kicked the AR-15 out of the way and not touched it. Why get your fingerprints on it at all? (Of course, this assumes that the shooting cop is telling the truth about the citizen holding the bad guy’s AR-15.)
Our “Civil Servants” are given far too much personal “at the officer’s discretion” without fault or accountability than our troops in a war zone are.
I get it, I have been there too, and have a whole lot of accounts about interactions of my own.
Even better.
What planet are you living on? An action taken by a regular citizen that would get their lives ruined by both the police and the legal system, is completely excused by those wearing the magical blue suit due to 'qualified immunity'.
I'm sure you'll let us know when they finally make it on to the top 10 most dangerous jobs in the nation, if that ever happens.
Are you actually standing there with your teeth in your mouth and your face hanging out, and saying that the guy who stopped the shooter was WRONG to do so???!?
