State troopers now are confirming three more reports of debris hitting vehicles on Interstate 5 in Seattle.
Traffic cameras were rolling after a semi truck was hit on southbound I-5 at James Street around 3 a.m. Tuesday.
Hours later, troopers say two other drivers reported debris hitting their windshields on I-5 at James Street and South Dearborn Street.
No one was hurt and no arrests have been made in connection with the latest incidents.
Meanwhile, one of the men arrested and accused of throwing rocks at cars along Seattle freeways has now been released from jail and charges dropped. After reviewing surveillance video, troopers say he is not the person they were looking for.
According to the Washngton State Patrol, there have been 75 incidents of debris hitting vehicles this year and six people have been hurt during the incidents.
Investigators believe the objects are being thrown from freeway overpasses.
In many instances, windshields of the vehicles are being shattered and in some cases occupants inside were hurt.
It’s hard to do that in Seattle...
I-405.
I live in Tacoma. When I go North, I do so through Bellevue.
I avoid downtown. So skanky.
Well...yeah...but that’s kinda the long way around. I grew up in Kent.
That is attempted murder. The likelihood of somebody dying in even other cars is extremely high. These people be they felchifa or burn loot murder need to spend the rest of their lives in wheel chairs
Idiots doing that crap need to pray the cops catch them before the angry motorists do.
I, for one, would ensure an end to the trouble without the involvement of authorities.
Votes matter.
Changing tagline.
When one of these perps IS caught, perhaps a way needs to be found so that the punishment can fit the crime. It is a very serious matter if someone is killed or injured in that manner.
Again... ANOTHER reason not to go near that dump posing as a city.
Like collecting trash from between the lanes of the freeway during the day without an orange vest?
A lot of bored, homeless people in the area. Hey, why not? Let’s go have some fun. No one will be able to identify us, and we can always retreat back to our homeless camp. The last time I remember this happening was at an overpass at 148th in Lynnwood. They put a fence around the overpass. Don’t know if that would work downtown. What do you do with people who are bored, don’t care, probably won’t get caught, and have nothing to lose?
Could be Earth First, Critical Mass, or some other anti-car activists.
If I have to visit Polyclinic-Madison, I will drive down I405 to I90 to I5 and approch Madison St from the south - no overpasses.
“After reviewing surveillance video, troopers say he is not the person they were looking for.”
I suppose reviewing the video before arresting someone never crossed their minds.
