The US 9th Circuit Court of Appeals has blocked a federal judge's controversial ruling that overturned California's longtime ban on assault weapons, in which he likened the AR-15 to a Swiss Army knife.
In an order Monday, a three-judge panel on the federal appeals court issued a stay of US District Judge Roger Benitez's order earlier this month that overturned California's three-decade old assault weapons ban.
The state's current assault weapons laws will remain in effect while further proceedings continue, California Attorney General Rob Bonta said in a statement on Twitter.

Based on WHAT?!?! The Supreme Court has ruled that a ban on the most popular sport rifle is simply an attack on the 2A. - PERIOD!
Any court ruling contrary to this Supreme Court ruling is a TRAVESTY, a WASTE OF TIME, and a WASTE OF RESOURCES!!
This has actually been settled, but people refuse to accept the damn ruling!
SOMEONE needs to slap these idiotic courts and judges with some type of disciplinary action, so they will finally understand that “No” means NO!

See US v. Stewart, a 2003 decision reversed by SCOTUS. 9th Circut held that possession of homemade machine gun is not a violation of federal law.
The government is hostile to the right to keep and bear arms. This is the natural order. Governments are hostile to any effective resistance.

I predicted this when the original decision was announced. It was as easy a prediction as where the sun is going to rise tomorrow. It will go to a 3-judge panel. I haven’t seen if they have announced which clowns will participate in that. After that, regardless of the decision, it will go to an en banc hearing. All of this is a delaying tactic. It’s a 50/50 chance the supremes will hear it. Our legal system is broken. Has been for a while now.
Benitez anticipated the 9th Circus doing this by saying in his order that it would not take effect for 30 days to give the State time to file an appeal.
In 2017 the same Judge Benitez ruled against California's ban on magazines holding more than 10 rounds, and for a week Californians could buy full capacity magazines, until the 9th Circus stepped in and ordered a stay on Benitez's order.
Judge Benitez learned his lesson and built this stay on implementing his order right into his ruling.
