A Seattle man was sentenced to five years in prison Monday for helping to set a police cruiser on fire and stealing an AR-15 rifle from another police car during the May 2020 unrest in Seattle.
Tyre Wayne Means, Jr., 25, will serve the sentence concurrent to a sentence in Kitsap County Superior court for burglary.
At the sentencing hearing U.S. District Judge Richard A. Jones told Means, “Your conduct was reckless, destructive and extremely dangerous to those who were there for peaceful protest.”
“The right to peacefully protest and gather in support of social and political causes is one of the dearest and most important rights that we enjoy in the United States,” said Acting U.S. Attorney Gorman. “(Means) is one of a smaller group who chose to abuse the cover of lawful protests to carry out acts of violence. His actions risked the safety of peaceful protestors and undercut their important messages and causes.”
According to court records in the case, Means Jr. was captured on video on May 30 lighting a paper towel and putting in the back seat of a damaged patrol car parked in the 1600 block of 6th Avenue while others in the crowd poured lighter fluid and other accelerants on the flames, eventually setting the patrol car ablaze.

As the fire started, Means was seen taking a rifle bag from a different burnt out patrol car and then getting into a scuffle with another man while trying to take the bag. Means managed to fight off the other man and ran to the 500 block of Pine Street, court documents show.
Once there, a second man approached Means and the two got into a fistfight. Means dropped the bag during the fight and a nearby Good Samaritan, not involved in the fight, retrieved the bag and left the scene. He eventually turned the rifle back in at Seattle Police's West Precinct later that day.
Investigators were able to identify Means with his distinctive red clothing, his tattoos and rings he wore at the riots. Agents say he was also wearing the same rings in a YouTube rap music video detectives included as evidence.
Investigators were able to identify Means on Aug. 12 and tracked him down in Bremerton during a visit with his probation officer, Seattle police said.
Means has two prior felony conviction in Georgia and is prohibited from possessing firearms. He also has a felony conviction for domestic violence and no-contact order in Washington state.
Read the last sentence of this article again. I knew it. I knew as soon as I started reading that there would be extenuating circumstances that led to this sentence.
Son Of Obama!
Tyre. Yeah. They are forced into a life of crime when their mamas give them goofy or awkward names.

Sorry all. He may have a case by arguing where is his threat of a wrist slap like all of the other protestors got in the end. There’s no such thing a a free for all with limits. It’s like scheduled anarchy. I’m not saying he shouldn’t do time but what makes the rest of riotous scum so special that they don’t?
Have fun in prison, idiot.
Wonder if he us kin to Natrone Means....
One down hundreds to go.
What a wasted opportunity. Name him Wayzan, Bienny, or my personal favorite Yaknowhati Means.
I expect that Tyre is going to get rolled.
At the conclusion of his five year sentence, he should be shot in the head, using the stolen rifle. As God says in Deuteronomy, we must purge the evil among us.

If only we had a few more laws against illegally owning firearms, or rioting, or street fighting, or beating up yo' woman ...
Maybe then he would have realized the seriousness of his ways and not broken any more laws.
Tyre thinks he hates Trump.
Wait until he meets Uncle Joe’s prison.
There it is again. Middle name “Wayne”. Correlates highly with criminality.
