Thirty percent of Republican voters say they believe former President Trump will "likely" be reinstated to office this year, a new Hill-HarrisX poll finds.
The results are comparable to other polling from Politico-Morning Consult released this month that showed nearly three in 10 Americans believe Trump will be reinstated.
While a segment of the GOP has indicated support for the idea, the vast majority of voters across the political spectrum agree it's unlikely that Trump will return to office this year.
Seventy percent of Republican respondents in the Hill-HarrisX poll said such a scenario is unlikely, along with 74 percent of independents and 87 percent of Democrats.
Meanwhile, 26 percent of independent voters said it's likely Trump will be reinstated while 13 percent of Democrats said the same.
There is no constitutional or legal mechanism for Trump to return to office in 2021 after losing to President Biden in last year's election. The Electoral College results were certified by Congress in January.

To believe that there is a functional, rule-of-law, peaceful mechanism that could “reinstall” Trump - completely ignores the fact that such a mechanism failed (or simply didn’t exist) from Nov. 3 - January 6

Stupid? While I agree there are no constitutional provisions whatsoever for a president being reinstated, there are also no constitutional provisions whatsoever to deal with the current constitutional crisis that America is in now because of “The Steal”.
Reinstated? That would be left up to the Supreme Court. And we all know they would never, never ever, allow that.
This poll is BS but its interesting that they even published it.
Trump will never again be president. Even if 5 or 6 states uncover massive fraud and determin Trump legally won, he still would not be reinstated. It would be “oh well, it is too late, sorry. We will fix it for next time.
Of course, there won’t be a next time. Trump will run in 2024 and legally win again, but massive fraud will cause him to lose again. It sucks, but it is what it is.

As far as I am concerned, no matter how or what happens or happened in the selection of electors, once the electoral College votes, that is it.
Anyone having an issue or anyone- left or right -uttering the phrase ‘not my president- needs to be at the least ignored, or worse.
It disgusted me when people said it after GWB was elected, after Trump was elected and it disgusts me still. The people don’t select the President, the Electoral College selects the President, regardless of if I like it or not, regardless of if I approve of the way the electors were selected or not.
The absolute rule of law must come to loyalty before any man or ideology.

The only provision for such seems to reside in the Declaration of Independence instead of the constitution.

By “The Hill”, I think they mean hill of bs. I think the audit will show massive cheating, and Trump actually won AZ, and likely some other states, but it’s not going to be enough to throw Biden/Harris out of the WH by itself.

The direction and momentum is on the side of this 30% (or whatever the actual number is, as I don’t trust any poll).
