The FBI can’t risk one of these prisoners might want a trial, because it would reveal the FBI’s involvement in inciting the riot on Jan 6th. So the FBI will hold them without charging them, psychologically wearing them down until they get them to confess to a crime. Any crime will do. It does not matter if they actually did anything.
