Baker fined for refusing to make transgender transition cake
ABC News ^ | June 16, 2021 | Colleen Slevin

Colorado baker who won a partial victory at the U.S. Supreme Court in 2018 for refusing to make a wedding cake for a same-sex couple violated the state’s anti-discrimination law by refusing to make a birthday cake for a transgender woman, a state judge has ruled.

In Tuesday’s ruling, Denver District Judge A. Bruce Jones said Autumn Scardina was denied a cake that was blue on the outside and pink on the inside to celebrate her gender transition on her birthday because of her transgender status in violation of the law. While Jack Phillips said he could not make the cake because of its message, Jones said the case was about a refusal to sell a product, not compelled speech.

He pointed out that Phillips testified during a trial in March that he did not think someone could change their gender and he would not celebrate “somebody who thinks that they can.”

“The anti-discrimination laws are intended to ensure that members of our society who have historically been treated unfairly, who have been deprived of even the every-day right to access businesses to buy products, are no longer treated as ‘others,‘ ” Jones wrote.

Scardina, an attorney, attempted to order the cake on the same day in 2017 that the U.S. Supreme Court announced it would hear Phillips’ appeal in the wedding cake case. Scardina said she wanted to “challenge the veracity” of Phillips statements that he would serve LGBT customers, but her attempt to get a cake was not a “set up” intended to file a lawsuit, Jones said.

Pure and utter BS. It was indeed a setup, and premeditated. She ought to be the person being charged with a crime.

do NOT think that
“judges” like this would not uphold Obama’s, and HRC’s,
and Biden’s use of guillotines to execute by beheading
political opponents and their children and wives.

“Transgender” individuals, by and large, are merely transvestites that have shown a predisposition for shocking and disturbing their neighbors with displays of unconventionality.

“Transgender” is a biological impossibility. The only “transition” is from one defined gender to neuter gender, but the transition never goes any further than that.

Either the confused person transitions back from “neuter” to the assigned biological gender or not. But never to the opposite gender.

If you're a woman , why don't you make your own da*n cake. You'll never get a decent man if you can't cook Missy!

In other news... Men who pretend to be women still puzzled about why straight men won't date them. Won't accept that real men dont date queers as a legitimate answer, still looking for other reasons.. ?? Thinking, Maybe bigger boobs??? Or bigger shot glasses for their dates??

The Supremes did not actually resolve the matter in the previous bakeshop case. They just ruled that the state had been too rough.

So here we are again.

This case should immediately go to the Supreme Court!!!

It's currently in state court. It'll need to work its way through federal court before it reaches the Supreme Court.

We need serious penalties for people engaged in lawfare. Misusing the legal system for political reasons should get you 20 years in prison, in my opinion.

[Transperson] Scardina said she wanted to “challenge the veracity” of Phillips statements that he would serve LGBT customers, but her attempt to get a cake was not a “set up” intended to file a lawsuit, [Judge] Jones said.

Perjury from the bench.

Jones said the case was about a refusal to sell a product, not compelled speech.

It is compelled speech and it's government force to use a persons talent against their beliefs. Government should not compel anyone to use their talent.

Can't wait for this judge to explain Corporate Cancel Cult's treatment of Conservatives then. Hell, let's talk about the DOJ's double standard in ignoring leftist crimes and persecuting Conservatives for anything and everything under the sun.

If this was a moslem baker, homosexuals & transgenders would be on their phone maps, getting directions to the next bakery.

Maybe he should use his talents to depict the truth. He could make a cake showing severed male genitalia.

Christian named Jack Phillips politely told the homosexuals that they were welcome in his bakery and that he would be happy to sell them anything off-the-shelf. But he could not violate his faith. He even offered to find them an alternative bakery for their decorated cake (which is easy).

But the homosexuals did not visit Phillips for a cake.

The Civil Rights Commission is a kangaroo court... The US Supreme Court held (7 to 2) that the commission’s hateful rhetoric “cast doubt on the fairness and impartiality of the commission’s adjudication of Phillips’ case.”

I was momentarily startled by the headline.
I thought it was Baker Mayfield.

So a “private” business such as Facebook can restrict what customers they choose however a baker can not?
