Buckhead, a portion of Atlanta, Georgia, is looking to break free from the rest of a city in rapid decline. After decades of increased safety that started ahead of the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, it took one woman and a single summer to ruin it. Not even New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio can beat Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms time for running a city into the ground. It took de Blasio two terms. Bottoms has been so spectacular she’s announced she won’t even run for a second one.
As a result of her rank incomeptence, Buckhead, a wealthier section of Atlanta with about 100,000 residents, has decided to control its own destiny. There are two bills in the state legislature to affect the split, and the group has raised the required amount of money to move forward. Buckhead is petitioning to become wholly independent and establish and enlarge their own police force under different leadership.
Tucker Carlson interviewed Bill White, the leader of the movement to create an independent Buckhead. White told Tucker that residents feel as if they are living in a war zone. They are filing for divorce, according to White, and it will be final. He expects there will be an initiative on the ballot in 2022. If it is successful, Atlanta will lose at least 20% of its tax base.
Carlson described the rise in crime during his monologue. Two recent assaults include a man shot while jogging by an unknown assailant in a residential neighborhood and the stabbing of a pregnant woman on a walking trail in broad daylight. Her baby had to be delivered three months early. Neither victim was robbed, just violently assaulted:

Chris Rock said it best, “Every town has two malls: The one the white people go to, and the one the white people used to go to.”
Is there a harbor there?
Yes!!!!!!
I don’t think it has much of a chance of happening. There have been similar movements in CA and OR over the past 30 or 40 years and they haven’t gone anywhere. Those movements would have split those states in two. I think this is the first time that sections of an existing state would leave to join another state. There’s a lot of debate in ID about whether that would be a net plus or minus for Idaho.
If only urinalists were allowed to report reality. m
It’s ALWAYS THE SAME SUSPECTS.........
The Free Range Tuna there is pretty good...
The stabbing did not happen in Atlanta. Happened in Brookhaven
As for Buckhead, quite a bit of the crime there goes unreported as the local media covers for the Mayor. But there’s only so much they can do.
The mayor, knowing how insane the riots were last summer, talked about letting her son go downtown and told him to be careful around the police.
She describes the perps that either sell you a bottle of water at an intersection or rob you, as young black entrepreneurs.
And since she isn’t running and the federal investigation into his corrupt administration seems to be over, former mayor, Kasim Reed has announced that he’s running again.
So the city has that going for them, which is nice.
They could take a sizable chunk of Washington with them as well, if they wanted.
Not even remotely similar to Atlanta
Trying to explain the black engulfment of cities in the American south is impossible on this forum to those who don’t live here
It is precisely why Nashville prospers
Demographics...that do not favor blacks and white percentage even if liberal is increasing daily
Stores get robbed everywhere....even white areas like Menlo
It’s not indicative of decline necessarily
What happens in Atlanta malls is much more than that
Rapes in parking lots
Black gangs warring in Neimans killing several
Pregnant woman shot in parking garage
Vestiges of black predators in rich white areas close enough for them to raid
Organized hand bag robbers is not the same thing and happens in all fancy stores....
It’s not indicative the city is under siege crime and predator wise like Atlanta is...not much in the peninsula under San Francisco is in what I’d call decline or blight
Nearly all of Atlanta southern half below I-20 is.....
I’ve been trying to explain the black race and American south here for 22 years to people who simply just don’t know
I should get a degree for it
That question about Washington is addressed in their FAQ.
If voters would elect their leaders based on things like experience and a record of real positive accomplishments instead of making a persons sex and skin color the key and possibly the sole determining factors then they might actually elect competent leaders who are able to improve their communities. But as long as the media, Hollywood, and America hating groups are allowed to lie repeatedly and never be held accountable the we are doomed.
Just read it. Thanks
That map strikes me as goofy since Richland (Tri-Cities) and Spokane (excluded) are more conservative than Boise and Coeur d’Alene (included).
In Atlanta, it really isn’t about sex or skin color, even thought alll the mayors since Young have been black. It’s about the black population getting one of their own, no matter how corrupt they are, and the business folks being able to,do what they want without interference from city hall.
It was a win-win for all parties concerned.
But Mayor Kiki has taken it to another level.
And just think, she thought she was a shoo-in with the CornPop admin. She still might be. But Reed thought he was a shoo-in with the soetero admin.
My budding engineer son is interested in Georgia Tech. Is that campus in a “bad area”? Are there any GOOD areas?
WHY aren’t they including TRINITY COUNTY in that????
I lived in Atlanta for a few years and have been to Buckhead. The richest man I have ever worked for had a mansion in Buckhead. If the residents of Buckhead don’t get their way, they have PLENTY of wherewithal to move elsewhere. The liberal skank will simply run off the tax base. I’ve seen the same thing done in other cities.
Still praying for the Western Maryland secession.
/almost West Virginia
We’ve been trying forever
