Here is a wild idea: If you are an English teacher, TEACH ENGLISH.

“...she is an English teacher, not a history teacher so why is she teaching history of the Negro Baseball League?”

Good point. She’s teaching it because she wants to teach it. If her classes are mainly white, to instill guilt and shame, if black, to instill resentment, although most American blacks are not into baseball any more.

And it’s not as if an English curriculum doesn’t have black authors to choose from since so many white authors are being purged out of the curriculum.

Math is a tough subject. Teach that!

Math, grammar, composition, Spanish ...

Let's just do propaganda, it's less work.

Then those “teachers” can go on to do something within their capabilities - such as - er, uh, I’ll get back to you.

Racism is literally a subject that would go away if people stopped talking about it.

Why is an English teacher teaching about the history of Negro Baseball Leagues? English is supposed to be about literature, poetry, grammar, reading comprehension, writing, etc.

This person is incompetent.

Prior to Obama, the races got along fairly well. There was the occasional Rodney King-style incident, but things were calm for the most part.

It’s completely obvious to me that people like Jackson and Sharpton and the more minor players in the race-hustle industry realized all that calm wasn’t exactly amping-up the ol’ gravy train, so it was time to get it rolling again like it was during the late ‘60s and ‘70s.

And so we find ourselves where we are today, although the recent articles on BLM adherents getting suspicious about where all the money is going are somewhat encouraging.

They need to teach Critical Marx Theory. [Hint: Marx, an old White, European, Cisgender Male, got most of it wrong.]

Do we teach students to ignore tough subjects?

These kids are in SECOND GRADE !!

Is teaching anythign about the Negro Leagues even appropriate for second graders? I dont believe that it is. This is a subject for middle schoolers.

This woma needs to be removed from the classroom for blinding stupidity.

Teachers are destroying this country. I know there are good ones out there but most of them hate this country and what it stands for. They are the ones that have polluted the minds of CEOs, journalists, judges, politicians etc.

To teach kids to hate you have to start very young.

Also, I doubt that they are teaching that the league was a relative commercial success, or how players served as role models just as major league players did. Are they even going to mention the accomplishments of players and teams, including those after baseball?

No.

The only significance of the negro league to the Left is racism.

The unit was about baseball, but more importantly, it was about segregation and racism in America.

How about a unit on Jacksonian democracy and a discussion of its pluses and minuses?

>>As middle school teacher Brittany Paschall assembled a lesson plan on the history of the Negro Baseball Leagues, she wondered how she might have to go about it differently next year under a new Tennessee state law that prohibits teaching certain concepts of race and racism.

The unit was about baseball, but more importantly, it was about segregation and racism in America.

“I kept thinking, in light of this bill, if this were next year, how would I teach this to my students?”<<

Teach them the FACTS. Objectively what happened.

Yes, there was racism in the law and over time both socially and legally racism has been addressed as best as humans can do it. New “legislation” targeting whites is unconscionable and unconstitutional and is racist.

Racism happens in individuals, each to his/her predilections. It will never go away and is not assignable to any group of people. The best we can do is condemn it from any and all corners while we strive for a colorblind meritocracy.

Lesson over.

I will bill under separate cover.

Free extra: If you want to see REAL racism, go to any country ON EARTH that is not the USA and you will see it out in the open with few social nor legal protections against it. Including favorites Canada, New Zealand and Australia.

Today there is a negro league as well. It is called the nba.

Ughhh, no....she is right where she wants to be to convert the situation into straight cash and/or a promotion by exploiting guilt-ridden whites. None of these types have grievances so much as a window of opportunity to exploit at all costs.. Probably has visions of meeting the guy who does ‘Big Mama’s House’ movies in his limo to dine on McDonald’s Filet ‘O Fish sandwiches with American cheese and extra tartar sauce.

Why would you teach major league baseball to begin with? It has nothing to do with history. It is entertainment.

I have never understood why they don’t teach compound interest anywhere in school.
