Calgary police are searching for a driver who rear-ended a teenager on a bicycle, then dropped him off at a hospital but left without leaving her name or telling police.
The collision happened on May 31 at about 9 p.m. at Fonda Way S.E. and Radcliffe Drive S.E. in the Forest Heights neighbourhood, the Calgary Police Service said in a release on Friday.
After hitting the cyclist, the woman drove the teen to the Peter Lougheed Centre, gave him $100 and left him at the front entrance.
The teen suffered a fractured nose and "significant scrapes to his face and limbs," police said.
The woman didn't provide any personal information and failed to report the incident to police.

At least she rendered aid and transported him to medical care.
She may not have realized that hospital entrances have surveillance cameras.
Is her name Karen?
“...Is her name Karen?...”
Indeed, I wonder about that.
I also feel bad for all the genuinely nice and reasonable women named Karen, such as one of my cousins.
That’s such a Canadian story, isn’t it? LOL.
I have a cousin Karen as well. She was born in 1951; it was a trendy name.
Only $100 Canadian at that.
The cop made it clear that he was finished with his "good cop" routine when he told the perp that he couldn't have cream or sugar in his coffee.
At least she took him to the hospital and gave him $100. She must have had an appointment she couldn’t miss.
And the cyclist was okay.
Thanks to the excellent “free” Canadian health care system, it didn’t cost anyone, anywhere or at anytime, a dime to fix the boy up! -sarc
She sounds like the lady that hit me with a car, except the $100 part.
All she did was give me was give me a ride home and left.

and my conservative sister.
“Is her name Karen?”
Certainly sounds like it.
If she was Chinese she’d have run him over a second time to finish the job.
How much tax will he have pay in Canada for his new wealth?
When I was a kid I was riding my bicycle on the road. A German Shephard ran out of a yard and nipped me on the heel. Nothing major at all but it scared the crap out of me. A man ran out of the house, scooped me up, and basically threw me into his car. He took me to where my mother worked and told her what happened, then drove like a maniac to the hospital. This was before we became a lawsuit happy society; he did this totally out of concern for an injured child. Different times we live in today.
People who ride bicycles in or close to traffic have a death wish. It’s bad enough for motorcycles who can go with the traffic flow, but slow bicycles? Ferrrget it.
